    FIRST VICE-SPEAKER: NEXT STEPS HAVE TO BE DEFINED, WHICH WILL BE GRADUALLY GIVEN TO GEORGIA BEFORE ACCESSION TO THE EU

    “Georgia already received from the EU considerable tools, such as free trade, Association Agreement and visa-free regime agreement”, First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Tamar Chugoshvili stated.

    “Now, the question arises as to whether next steps were defined, concrete, tangible, with achievements, which could be easily perceived by Georgian citizens, which will be gradually given to Georgia before accession to the EU”, Chugoshvili declared.

    IN 2017, AGRICULTURAL OUTPUT INCREASED BY 1.7% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which output in Georgia’s agriculture for 2017 amounted to 3.92 billion lari. If compared with adjusted data for 2016, the volume has increased by 1.7%.


    NBG LEFT COUNTERCYCLICAL BUFFER INTACT

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that its Financial Stability Committee decided on June 14 to maintain the countercyclical capital buffer without change, at the level of 0%.

    The Committee estimated that growth of aggregated crediting in the current period corresponds to GDP growth, NBG explained the mentioned decision.


    NBG: GROWTH OF CORPORATE CREDITING IS MODERATE

    Growth of corporate crediting of companies is moderate, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said. According to NBG, credits, issued by commercial banks to companies, increased in the 1st quarter by 14.7% year-on-year, without envisaging exchange rate effect.


    NBG: Y-O-Y GROWTH OF MORTGAGE LOANS AND CREDITS TO SOLE PROPRIETORS INCREASED, WHILE OF CONSUMER LOANS – DECREASED

    Year-on-year growth of mortgage loans and credits to sole proprietors in the 1st quarter has increased, if compared with the growth in the previous quarter, while same growth of consumer loans decreased, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported.

    According to NBG, credits to households increased in the 1st quarter by 21.4% year-on-year and made up 35% of GDP.


    NBG: PROVISION ON RETAIL CREDITING TO ENTER IN FORCE IN 2019

    Provision on issuance of credits to natural persons will enter in force on January 1, 2019, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared.

    As NBG noted, working version of the draft provision is published, which will be perfected through consideration with the market participants.

    EASA AUTHORIZED THE 3RD GEORGIAN AIRLINE

    The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued uniform certificate of air safety to Georgian cargo airline Geo Sky, Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported.

    As the Agency noted, the authorization allows the air carrier to operate by means of single permission in all 28 EU member states and 4 countries of the European Free Trade Association.


    GEORGIAN DESIGNERS TO PRESENT OWN PRODUCTION ON SHOWROOMS IN PARIS

    Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia declared that production of 7 Georgian designers will be displayed during June 19-26 on Paris showrooms (“More Dash”, “Maison Pyramide”, “Paper Mache Tiger”).

    As the Agency noted, showrooms will be attended by representatives of about 100 companies and over 130 so-called buyers.

    ECOGRANTS’ PROGRAM OF “BP” NAMED 3 WINNERS

    Winners of ecogrants’ program are named, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported. The program is initiated and financed by BP oil company and its partners.
