DEPUTY ECONOMY MINISTER: SINCE THE LAST QUARTER OF 2012, MORE INVESTMENTS ENTERED GEORGIA THAN FOR PREVIOUS 12 YEARS
Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ekaterina Mikabadze declared that “starting from the last quarter 2012 till present, more foreign direct investments entered Georgia than for almost 12 years before that”.
The Deputy Minister declared this, while commenting on adjusted data on foreign direct investments (FDI) for 2018, published by Sakstat.
ADJUSTED DATA: IN 2018, VOLUME OF FDI DECREASED BY 35.5%
Sakstat published adjusted data for 2018, according to which foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted in the reporting year to $1.26 billion. This volume is by 2.7% more than estimation, but still by 35.5% less than the indicator of 2017.
ADJUSTED DATA: IN 2018, LARGEST FDI WERE MADE IN FINANCIAL SECTOR
Sakstat published adjusted data for 2018, according to which largest foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia were made in the reporting year in financial sector – $270.7 million. Estimation, released in March, assessed the volume as $277.9 million.
ADJUSTED DATA: IN 2018, LARGEST FDI IN GEORGIA WERE MADE FROM AZERBAIJAN
Sakstat published adjusted data for 2018, according to which largest foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia were made in the reporting year from Azerbaijan – $246.4 million. Estimation, released in March, assessed contribution of this country as $240 million.
SUITABLE LOCATIONS OF HELICOPTER TAKE-OFF PLATFORMS TO BE DEFINED
Georgian Civil Aviation Agency declared that possibility of arrangement of helicopter take-off platforms across whole territory of the country. For that end, respective working group was created in this June.

Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency of Innovations and Technologies reported about reveal of 41 finalist startups within its program of co-financing grants. The Agency specified that in total, 195 applications were submitted within the grant competition.

LLC “FORMULA” IS PROVIDED 5 DAYS FOR CORRECTION OF SHORTCOMINGS IN APPLICATION ON BROADCASTING AUTHORIZATION
Georgian National Communication Commission reported that LLC Formula was provided term of 5 days for correction of shortcomings in the application on broadcasting authorization, which the company has submitted on August 13.
The Commission said that the company did not provide full information on a number of issues.
