    GEORGIAN PREMIER: WE WILL DO OUR BEST IN CONNECTION WITH 12 RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

    Next week, “our team, the ruling party will have a response” regarding all those points, about which we spoke with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and the European Commission, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili declared today.

    “We will do our best” until end of the month, the Premier assured in connection with 12 recommendations of the European Commission (their fulfillment is necessary in order Georgia to obtain status of the EU membership candidate).

    Today, Georgian civil organizations, led by Open Society – Georgia Foundation, presented their latest Status Meter – the document, assessing fulfillment of 12 recommendations, set by the European Commission as prerequisite for assigning status of the EU membership candidate to Georgia. The latest document assesses steps, taken by the Georgian authorities between January 16 and September 8 this year.

    IN Q2, AVERAGE MONTHLY SALARY IN GEORGIA INCREASED BY 17.1% Y-O-Y

    In the 2nd quarter, the average nominal monthly salary in Georgia made up 1,804 lari, Sakstat reported. If compared to the same period of 2022, the sum has increased by 17.1% (by 263.2 lari).


    UPDATED FORECAST OF THE GOVERNMENT: IN 2023, GEORGIA’S ECONOMY WILL GROW BY 6.5%

    According to the updated forecast of the Georgian government, the country’s economy in 2023 will grow by 6.5%. Until now, expected GDP growth rate made up 5%.


    GEORGIAN PREMIER: THIS YEAR’S BUDGET INCREASES BY 500M LARI

    This year’s budget is increasing by 500 million lari, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili declared at the government meeting today. We are changing and increasing the planned budget already the 3rd year, he noted.


    20M LARI PROVIDED FOR PREPARATORY WORKS WITHIN ANAKLIA PORT PROJECT

    Georgia’s Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili told journalists today that allocations to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development are increased by 23 million lari, 20 million of which are envisaged for start of construction of the infrastructure, necessary for Anaklia port. This amount will be spent this year, he indicated.


    FOR NOW, 322 OFFENDERS FINED FOR NON-COMPLIANCE WITH VEHICLE EXHAUST STANDARDS IN GEORGIA

    Georgian Ministry of Environment and Agriculture reported that in total 322 offenders were fined during September 4-14 for non-compliance with vehicle exhaust standards in Georgia. The Ministry specified that 160 fines were imposed in Tbilisi, 78 – in Kutaisi, 58 – Batumi, 26 – Rustavi.

    IN 6 MONTHS, GEORGIA HAD NEGATIVE NATURAL INCREASE OF THE POPULATION

    In January-June, total number of live births in Georgia made up 19,431, while total number of deaths – 21,944, Sakstat reported. As a result, there was negative natural increase of 2,513 people in the country.
