    VISITORS’ MONTHLY AVERAGE SPENDING IN DOMESTIC TOURISM SEGMENT TOTALED IN 2016 TO 135.2M LARI

    Sakstat reported that monthly average spending of local visitors of 15 years and above totaled in 2016 to 135.2 million lari. In comparison with the showing of 2015 (127.5 lari), the growth made up 6%.


    IN DOMESTIC TOURISM OF 2016, VISITS TO FRIENDS OR RELATIVES ACCOUNTED FOR 52.5%

    Sakstat reported that out of total monthly average number of visits, paid by visitors of 15 years and above in 2016 in domestic tourism segment (1.08 million), visits to friends or relatives accounted for 52.2% (566,500 visits).

    To compare, in 2015, visits to friends and relatives (561,500 visits) accounted for 54.5% of total monthly average number of visits (1.03 million).


    IN 2016, AGE GROUP OF 31-50 YEARS ACCOUNTED AGAIN FOR BIGGEST SHARE IN DOMESTIC TOURISM

    Sakstat reported that monthly average number of visitors of 15 years and above in segment of domestic tourism made up 872,000 in 2016. If compared with 2015, the number has increased by 4.2%.


    ACCESS TO UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE TO BECAME DIFFERENTIATED

    Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection Ministry declared that “differentiated services will be enacted for beneficiaries of universal healthcare program”.

    Particularly, citizens, whose individual annual income exceeds 40,000 lari, will not have access to the program anymore.


    CONSTRUCTION OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY FINISHED IN KOBULETI

    Construction of wastewater treatment facility in Kobuleti has been completed, Regional Development and Infrastructure Ministry announced. Cost of the project exceeded 5.8 million lari.

    KAZAKH “SCAT AIRLINES” INCREASES FREQUENCY OF FLIGHTS TO GEORGIA

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced that Kazakh SCAT Airlines will increase frequency of its flights to Georgia in summer season. Relevant permission to the air company was issued on March 15.


    “BGEO GROUP”: PROFIT OF “GHG” FOR 2016 AMOUNTED TO 61.3M LARI

    BGEO Group reported that profit of its healthcare business, Georgia Healthcare Group (GHG), for 2016 amounted to 61.3 million lari.

    Healthcare services business was the main driver of GHG’s profit, contributing 64.5 million lari (year-on-year growth – 195.1%).


    “BGEO GROUP”: “GGU” MORE THAN DOUBLED PROFIT IN 2016

    BGEO Group reported that profit of its business of water supply (in Tbilisi (GWP), Rustavi and Mtskheta) and energy, Georgian Global Utilities (GGU), amounted in 2016 to 35.7 million lari. The group pointed that the volume has more than doubled year-on-year.


    “BGEO GROUP”: NET PROFIT OF “M2 REAL ESTATE” INCREASED IN 2016 BY 16.1%

    BGEO Group reported that net profit of its development business, m2 Real Estate, amounted in 2016 to 12.5 million lari, increasing year-on-year by 16.1%. At that, revenue made up 20.9 million lari, decreasing by 3.2% year-on-year.


    FORMER TOURIST CAMP IN KHASHURI MUNICIPALITY PUT UP TO THE AUCTION

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that its Agency of State Property has announced termed online auction on former tourist camp Poladi, located in Surami borough of Khashuri municipality (Shida Kartli region). The auction expires on March 23.
