    THE GOVERNMENT HOPES TO SIGN CONTRACTS WITH SWISS “SGS” AT THE END OF NOVEMBER

    Georgia government reported that within Georgian-Russian informal dialogue, next meeting between Georgian Prime Minister’s special representative in relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin was held on November 16 in Prague.

    One of the subjects of consideration was problematics of agreement of 2011 between the governments of Georgia and Russia on basic principles of mechanisms of customs administration and monitoring of commodity trade, the government said.


    NATIONAL COMMUNICATION COMMISSION SUPPORTS REFORMS IN “PUBLIC BROADCASTER”

    National Communication Commission declared that it supports reforms, being underway in Public Broadcaster, which are aim transformation of Public Broadcaster into successful, rating broadcasting company.

    In the released statement, the Commission indicated that for the last 12 years, low popularity of publicly-funded Public Broadcaster became obvious.


    THE PARLIAMENT’S FISCAL COMMITTEE DISCUSSED ISSUES OF COOPERATION WITH DONORS

    Today, chairman of the Parliament’s Fiscal Committee Irakli Kovzanadze held a meeting with representatives of international donor organizations (USAID, NDI, UNDP, GIZ) and the EU. As press service of the Parliament said, the meeting aimed planning of concrete directions of cooperation.


    2-YEAR WORKING PLAN OF THE AGRICULTURE MINISTRY TO BE PRESENTED IN NEXT SPRING

    Agriculture Ministry declared that its 2-year working plan will be presented in spring of 2018. Work on the plan is conducted with assistance of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

    OPPOSITION MP: WHAT BECAME OF LARI IS DIRECT GUILT OF THE GOVERNMENT AND NATIONAL BANK

    MP from opposition National Movement, ex-president of National Bank of Georgia Roman Gotsiridze declared that “what became of lari is direct guilt of the government and National Bank”.

    The government is guilty because of “unbalanced budget and adventurist initiative of issuance of credit of half a billion lari to banks, while National Bank is guilty also of pursuing of “cheap money” policy”, Gotsiridze posted in his Facebook.


    AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: AMERICAN SIDE IS READY TO ASSIST GEORGIA IN PREVENTION OF ZOONOTIC DISEASES, STRENGTHENING OF LAB CAPACITIES

    Georgia Agriculture Ministry reported that the First Deputy Minister Nodar Kereselidze met today with director of the Global Health Protection Division at the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) Nancy Knight.

    Under the memorandum, signed between the Ministry and CDC, the American side is ready to assist Georgia in prevention of zoonotic diseases, strengthening of lab capacities, as well as eradication of hydrophobia, the Ministry said.


    “SAKSTAT” PRESENTED PORTAL OF GIS ANALYSIS

    Today, Sakstat held presentation of geographical information systems, used in business statistics (GIS analysis portal). Respective data, including geographical coordinates of active companies, are placed on the web site of Sakstat.


    WITHIN NATIONAL NAVIGATION PROJECT, FIELD WORKS IN TBILISI ARE COMPLETED

    National Agency of Public Register declared about completion of field works in Tbilisi, which were conducted within the project of national navigation system.

    More than 41,000 described objects include accommodation and food facilities, historical and cultural monuments, tourist and recreational establishments, trade outlets, banks, gas stations, etc.

    ECONOMY MINISTRY: “HELLENIC PETROLEUM” HAS GREAT INTEREST IN GEORGIAN MARKET

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that Greek oil concern Hellenic Petroleum has great interest in Georgian market.

    The Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili met representatives of the concern today.


    WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM, PRODUCER OF FURNITURE COMPONENTS “GEO DECOR” TO LAUNCH NEW TECHNOLOGICAL LINE

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that within “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC Geo Decor (producer of furniture components) will introduce the new technological line. Volume of investments to total to 765,000 lari, the Ministry said.
