GEORGIAN CITIZENS WILL NOT PASS QUARANTINE UPON ARRIVAL TO GERMANY
Georgian Foreign Ministry reported that Georgian citizens, who have permission to visit Germany for concrete reason (business, education, treatment), are not liable to obligatory quarantine since June 15. As the Ministry noted, respective decision was made by the German government taking into account a positive situation in Georgia in respect of COVID-19 spread.

BUDGETARY OFFICE: IN 2020, GEORGIAN ECONOMY WILL SHRINK BY 4.8%
Latest forecast, released by Budgetary Office of Georgian Parliament, estimates that the country’s economy will shrink in 2020 by 4.8%. For 2021-2024, average rate of growth is expected at the level of 5.5%.
IN Q1, AVERAGE MONTHLY NOMINAL SALARY INCREASED BY 10.1% Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that average monthly nominal salary in the country amounted in the 1st quarter to 1,202 lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 10.1% (by 110 lari).
NBG SOLD $20 MILLION
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared about selling of $20 million at the currency auction today. Average weighted exchange rate made up 3.0383 GEL/USD.
PRIME MINISTER: DIVERSIFICATION OF ECONOMIC PRIORITIES DOES NOT MEAN GIVING TOURISM UP AS HOPELESS
“We have to carry out diversification of our economic priorities, however it does not mean that we have to give tourism up as hopeless”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared. To note, Georgia re-opened since June 15 domestic tourism, suspended because of COVID-19 pandemic.
AS OF MARCH 31, SHARE OF CREDITS, ISSUED TO REAL ESTATE AND CONSTRUCTION SECTOR, INCREASED BY 0.4 PP Q-O-Q AND BY 1.7 PP Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that credits, issued to the sector of real estate and construction, accounted as of March 31 to 5.8% of total credits in the country. This share has increased quarter-on-quarter by 0.4 percentage points (pp) and by 1.7 pp year-on-year.
IN 2019, NUMBER AND PRODUCTION INDICATORS OF SLAUGHTERHOUSES DECREASED, WHILE COST OF THEIR SERVICES INCREASED
Sakstat reported that in 2019, there were 106 slaughterhouses in Georgia, reducing in number by 6 year-on-year. Out of total, 23.6% were located in Kvemo Kartli region, 15.1% – in Kakheti, 11.3% – in Shida Kartli, per 11.3% – in Imereti and Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti.
TBILISI CITY HALL: REHABILITATION OF 2 SPORTING VENUES AND CONSTRUCTION OF 4 ONES IS UNDERWAY IN THE CAPITAL
Tbilisi City Hall reported about rehabilitation of 2 sporting venues and construction of 4 ones, being underway in the capital, and stressed that 2 of them are multifunctional public centers. Works were launched before COVID-19 pandemic.

COMPETITION AGENCY LAUNCHED INVESTIGATION BECAUSE OF COMPLAINT OF “GT MOTORS”
Georgian Competition Agency declared that investigation was launched, following complaint of LLC GT Motors. As the Agency explained, the matter concerns possible fact of unfair competition, practiced by LLC G.T.Motors.
