    ACTION PLAN APPROVED FOR IMPLEMENTATION IN GEORGIA OF EUROPEAN AGREEMENT ON INTERNATIONAL ROAD TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS

    Georgia government approved the action plan for implementation of European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).

    According to the respective order of the government, Georgian legislation should be amended in order of the agreement’s implementation.


    RENEWAL OF CUSTOMS CHECKPOINT “SARPI” TO START IN AUTUMN

    Project on renewal of customs checkpoint “Sarpi” on Georgian-Turkish border (in Ajara) will be launched this autumn, Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili declared. Infrastructure of this checkpoint “is in order today, but its renewal is necessary”, the Minister said, noting that “the process will be completed by end of spring of 2018”.


    REINFORCEMENT WORKS ON KVARIATI-SARPI ROAD SECTION ARE UNDERWAY

    Restoration and reinforcement of 7-km Kvariati-Sarpi section of Senaki-Poti-Sarpi highway of international importance are underway, Finance Ministry declared.

    As the Ministry said, total cost of the project exceeds 58 million lari, works are conducted by State Construction Company.


    TARIFF OF “GEORGIAN GAS TRANSPORTATION COMPANY” IS INCREASED

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulation Commission declared about establishment of new tariff for LLC Georgian Gas Transportation Company.

    In particular, single tariff for various categories of gas transportation service’s clients was determined at 1.884 tetri per cubic m, the Commission specified.


    NEW MUNICIPAL MOTOR DEPOT OPENED IN TBILISI

    New motor depot was opened on the territory of 6 ha in Tbilisi, where 143 new municipal buses, made by MAN, will be placed, Tbilisi City Hall reported.

    As the City Hall noted, over 19 million lari was spend for the project.

    “GEORGIAN AIRWAYS”: RUSSIAN AVIATION AUTHORITY CANCELLED OUR 4 FLIGHTS A WEEK ON TBILISI-MOSCOW ROUT

    As Georgian air carrier Georgian Airways said in special statement, Russian aviation authority “unexpectedly notified about cancellation of Georgian Airways’ 4 flights a week on Tbilisi-Moscow rout”.

    This decision “put us in unequal conditions” and “left hundreds of passengers, who already purchased air tickets, in vague situation with total neglect of their interests”, the air company said.


    “GALLERIA TBILISI” TO BE OPENED IN AUTUMN

    Multipurpose shopping center Galleria Tbilisi will be opened on Rustaveli Avenue of Tbilisi in autumn of this year, LLC Galleria Tbilisi declared. Total area of the mall make up 55,000 square m.


    WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM, “TIFLIS TEXTILES” PLANS PRODUCTION OF SOCKS

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that within “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC Tiflis Textiles plans to launch production of socks for all groups of customers (women, men, children).

    The enterprise, located on Cairo Street in Tbilisi, will start operation in the beginning of 2018 and will employ up to 50 people initially, the Ministry said.


    WITHIN UNIFIED AGROPROJECT, FISH ENTERPRISE WILL BE OPENED IN KARELI

    Agriculture Ministry reported that recently, LLC Akhali Tevzi (Fresh Fish) was launched in Kareli (Shida Kartli region), where 30 people will be employed. The company, created within unified agroproject, plans to produce 150 t of fish and caviar annually.

    YOUNG LAWYERS ASSOCIATION: EUROPEAN COURT ESTABLISHED RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STATE BECAUSE OF UNHEALTHY ENVIRONMENT, CAUSED BY THERMAL POWER PLANT’S OPERATION

    Georgian Young Lawyers Association declared that following its claim, European Court established responsibility of the state because of unhealthy environment, caused by operation of thermal power plant.

    Now, the state is obliged to pay compensation of 4,500 EUR to each claimant, the Association said.
