THE PARLIAMENT WORKS ON NEW TOURISM LEGISLATION
Georgian Parliament reported about next meeting of the group, working on legislation in the sphere of tourism, which held today in the Committee for Branch Economy and Economic Policy.
At the meeting, results of meetings with representatives of the industry and concept of Georgian tourism sphere were considered.
IN NBG, ISSUES OF MANAGEMENT OF SPECIALIZED DEPOSITARY’S FUND WERE DISCUSSED
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported about working meeting on management of specialized depositary’s fund, which was held today.
The event, which was organized by NBG, was held within the joint project of the EU and the World Bank.
IN GEORGIA, CERTIFICATION OF PLANTING STOCK IS UNDERWAY
Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that process of voluntary certification of planting stock was launched this year.
The Ministry pointed that this certification is conducted free of charge by Agricultural Research Center of the Ministry.
THE EU FACILITATES STRENGTHENING OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION IN GEORGIA
Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported about launch of the new project with assistance of the EU, which aims strengthening of environment protection sector in the country.
The project contains 5 main components.
GEORGIAN-CYPRIAN BUSINESS FORUM ATTRACTED OVER 100 COMPANIES
Today, Georgian-Cyprian business forum was held in Tbilisi, part in which was taken by over 100 companies, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported
As the Ministry noted, the participants represented such spheres, as international investments, IT service and web-design, upholstered furniture and accessories, agribusiness, real estate, tourism, legal and tax advice, ship-building, etc.
Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia marked out three spheres, where “we expect deepening and further development of relations”.

Georgian Co-Investment Fund declared about appointment of Tsotne Ebralidze as new executive director. He replaced Giorgi Bachiashvili on the post.
IN 2018, MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 10%
Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in 2018 in medical insurance, totaled to 217.01 million lari.
The volume has increased by 10% year-on-year and made this kind of insurance accounting for 40% of total premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in the reporting year.
IN 2018, LIFE INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 51.6%
Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in 2018 in life insurance, totaled to 37.43 million lari.
The volume has increased by 51.6% year-on-year and made this kind of insurance accounting for 6.9% of total premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in the reporting year.
IN 2018, ACCIDENT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 19.8%
Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in 2018 in accident insurance, totaled to 5.89 million lari.
The volume has increased by 19.8% year-on-year and made this kind of insurance accounting for 1.1% of total premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in the reporting year.
