    OPINION SURVEY: 69% OF GEORGIAN POPULATION TRUST THE EU

    Opinion survey shows that 77% of Georgian population consider that Georgia has good relations with the EU, while 69% trust the EU, the EU representation in Georgia reported. At that, only 28% trust the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union.


    EXPERTS, WORKING ON PLAN OF STABILIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMY, HELD A PRIMARY PRESENTATION FOR THE GOVERNMENT

    Georgian government reported that representatives of the New York office of Deloitte, who work on the plan of medium- and long-term stabilization and development of economy of Georgia, held a primary presentation today.

    As the government said, the presentation included analysis of fiscal, monetary and sectoral economic policy and recommendations of the international consultants.

    AS OF MARCH, LOAN PORTFOLIO, EXCLUDING EXCHANGE RATE EFFECT, INCREASED BY 17.1% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that loan portfolio of the country’s banking sector amounted as of March 31 to 35 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 17.1%.


    AS OF MARCH, DEPOSITS INCREASED BY 9.6% Y-O-Y

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that deposits, placed in commercial banks of the country, amounted as of March 31 to 28.8 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 9.6%.


    SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, YIELD ON BONDS OF THE GOVERNMENT AND STATE COMPANIES INCREASED

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that in May, yield rate of 10-year bonds of Georgian government made up 4.6%. If compared with December, the rate has increased by 2 percentage points (pp).


    WITH ASSISTANCE OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” AGENCY, GEORGIAN DESIGNERS WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ONLINE SHOWROOMS

    Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Produce in Georgia Agency reported that designers, registered in Georgia, will be able to participate in online showrooms.

    The project is implemented through joint financing of the Agency (within the direction of assistance to export) and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

    SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, PRICE PER SHARE OF “BOG” DROPPED BY 44.3%, OF “TBC BANK GROUP” – BY 40.3%

    National Bank of Georgia reported that on the London Stock Exchange, price per share of Sakartvelos Banki Group (Bank of Georgia, BOG) in May made up 8.8 GBP. Since the beginning of the year, the price has decreased by 44.3%.


    IN 2019, PROFIT OF “VTB BANK GEORGIA” INCREASED BY 10.4%

    VTB Bank Georgia reported profit of 29.76 million lari for 2019. According to audited report the bank, the volume has increased by 10.4% year-on-year.


    IN 2019, BORROWED FUNDS OF “VTB BANK GEORGIA” DECREASED BY 7.3%

    Audited report of VTB Bank Georgia for 2019 indicates that volume of the bank’s borrowed funds amounted as of December 31, 2019 to 118.7 million lari. If compared with 2019, the volume has decreased by 7.3%.
