    GEORGIA BECAME ASSOCIATED MEMBER OF IFIAR

    Finance Ministry announced that Accounting, Reporting and Audit Supervision Service got status of associated member of International Forum of Independent Audit Regulator (IFIAR).

    As of today, IFIAR unites supervision agencies from 52 jurisdictions.


    “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” AGENCY TO DEVELOP 3 DIRECTIONS

    The agency, being in charge for implementation of “Produce in Georgia” state program, will continue operation with new structure, covering 3 directions. Until now, that program was implemented by Entrepreneurship Development Agency.


    DIRECTOR GENERAL OF “TBC BANK”: DEVELOPMENT OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM IN EXPORT DIRECTION IS VERY IMPORTANT

    Director general of TBC Bank Vakhtang Butskhrikidze estimates that “it is very important, to develop “Produce in Georgia” state program in direction of export”. The program involves most of Georgian banks, including TBC Bank, he points.


    HEAD OF “GEORGIAN MELIORATION”: REVENUE FROM IRRIGATION MADE UP 3.16M LARI

    While reporting to the Parliament today, director general of LLC Georgian Melioration Archil Bukia declared that revenue, gained from irrigation, made up 3.16 million lari.

    As Bukia said, “We have quite a big potential in terms of income growth from irrigation, drainage, water ponds”.


    TOURISM ADMINISTRATION: NEW CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED ON “TRIPADVISOR”

    Georgian Tourism Administration announced launch of new marketing campaign on traveler portal TripAdvisor. According to the Administration, $65,000 will be spent for this end.

    TWO COMPANIES ATTRACTED OVER 63.7% OF TOTAL LAND TRANSPORT INSURANCE PREMIUM

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that out of total premium, attracted in insurance of land transport (except railway) as of December 31, 2016, two companies account for combined 63.7%. The top two comprises of Aldagi and GPI Holding again.


    PREMIUM IN VESSELS’ INSURANCE DECLINED BY 19.4% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that total premium, attracted in vessels’ insurance as of December 31, 2016, amounted to 432,823 lari (0.1% of total insurance premium). If compared with the same period of last year, the volume has declined by 19.4%.


    PREMIUM IN AIR TRANSPORT INSURANCE DROPPED BY 25% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that total premium, attracted in insurance of air transport (hull insurance) as of December 31, 2016, amounts to 3.73 million lari (0.9% of total insurance premium). If compared with the same period of last year, the volume has dropped by 25%.


    CONTEST ON PRIVATE GENERAL RADIO BROADCASTING LICENSE ANNOUNCED FAILED

    Georgian National Communication Commission declared that contest on license for countrywide general radio broadcasting in FM frequency range, has been announced as failed.

    According to the Commission, “Submitted documentation was insufficient, at that, broadcasting concept was not properly developed, which served as reason for disqualification of both applicants”.


    TBILISI HOSTS THE 15TH FASHION WEEK

    The 15th fashion week has taken start today in Tbilisi. The Week, having 21 scheduled events, will last for 5 days.
