IN 6 MONTHS, GEORGIA EXPORT TO THE EU DECREASED BY 4.9% Y-O-Y, WHILE IMPORT FROM THE EU INCREASED BY 16.7%
Sakstat reported that Georgia’s export to the EU countries amounted in 6 months to $321.3 million, decreasing by 4.9% compared with the same period of 2020. In Georgia’s total export, the EU countries accounted for 17%.
IN 6 MONTHS, GEORGIA EXPORT TO THE CIS INCREASED BY 33.3% Y-O-Y, WHILE IMPORT FROM THE CIS – BY 15.7%
Sakstat reported that Georgia’s export to the CIS countries amounted in 6 months to $866.5 million, increasing by 33.3% compared with the same period of 2020. In Georgia’s total export, the CIS countries accounted for 46%.
FINANCE MINISTRY: DECISION REGARDING CASINOS IS ONE-TIME AND APPLIES TO PERMIT FEE FOR ONE YEAR ONLY
Georgian government decided to halve permit fee for casinos, operating in Tbilisi, which have obtained a permit this year, and make it 2.5 million lari instead of regular 5 million lari.
The Finance Ministry specified that this decision is one-time and applies to the permit fee for one year only (permit is issued to casinos for 5 years).
REVENUE SERVICE: “BOOKING.COM” WILL CALCULATE VAT FROM SUM THAT CUSTOMERS PAY FOR THE WEB SITE’S SERVICES, AND NOT FROM INCOME FROM RENTING APARTMENTS
Georgian Finance Ministry’s Revenue Service declared that entities, which are established abroad and/or do not have fixed institution in Georgia and at the same time provide digital services on the territory of Georgia, became obliged to pay VAT to the budget of Georgia since July 1.
Foreign entity, including booking.com, becomes liable to taxation only in part of provision of services to non-entrepreneurial private individual residing on the territory of Georgia, the Service noted.

Georgian Parliament reported that its Committee on Branch Economy and Economic Policy is launching a mission-orientated research “Tourism Sector’s Updated Strategy in the Post-Crisis Period and its Economic Results”. The decision was made at today’s meeting of the Committee.
EBRD PLACED BONDS OF 157M LARI THROUGH “TBC CAPITAL”
EBRD placed bonds of 157 million lari through TBC Capital. As TBC Capital indicated, bonds with maturity of 18 months were fully acquired by TBC Bank.
REHABILITATION OF WATER DISTRIBUTOR AT TIRIPONI IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN GORI MUNICIPALITY COMPLETED
State LLC Georgian Melioration completed rehabilitation of water distributor at Tiriponi irrigation system in Gori municipality (Shida Kartli region).
According to Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, cost of the project made up 1.24 million lari.
