    “TI GEORGIA”: 51 MPS HAVE TIES WITH BUSINESS

    TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, declared that 51 MPs have ties with business and, respectively, own stakes in entrepreneurial entities.

    As TI Georgia indicated in its report, 16 MPs have not declared their business assets, including 14 majority members: Levan Bezhanidze, Bidzina Gegidze, Levan Kobiashvili, Guram Macharashvili, Koba Narchemashvili, Gia Zhorzholiani, Shota Khabareli, Dimitri Khundadze, Edisher Toloraia, Dimitri Samkharadze, Gedevan Popkhadze, Irakli Tripolsky, Mariam Jashi, Sofio Kiladze, and 2 MPs from Patriots of Georgia: Irma Inashvili, Giorgi Lomia.


    GEORGIA JOINED ALLIANCE FOR TORTURE-FREE TRADE

    Yesterday in New York, which hosts General Assembly of the UN this week, international Alliance for Torture-Free Trade was established, which Georgia has also joined, representation of the EU in Georgia reported.

    As the representation said, this initiative is a joint effort of the EU, Argentina and Mongolia, with a total of 58 participating countries.


    FINANCE MINISTER: GEORGIAN AND CHINESE PARTIES AGREED TO RATIFY FREE TRADE AGREEMENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

    Georgia’s First Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili discussed bilateral relations with Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference National Committee Ma Peihua, who pays visit to Georgia.

    Georgian Finance Ministry reported that after the meeting, Kumsishvili has declared that enactment of Georgia-China agreement on free trade requires completion of domestic procedures in both countries and ratification of the document by legislature.

    “WEG”: SUPPLY WITH GAS BEARS THE BIGGEST RISK FOR GEORGIA’S ENERGY

    Referring to research, conducted jointly with Ilya State University, World Experience for Georgia (WEG) declared that supply with natural gas bears the biggest risk for power industry of Georgia.

    “It is necessary both to reduce external risks – through diversification of supplies and to raise sustainability by arrangement of gas storage and reduction of intensity of consumption”, WEG pointed.


    AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: GEORGIAN WINE WILL BE ON SALE IN BEIJING WINE RETAIL CHAIN

    Georgian Agriculture Ministry reported that Georgian wine will be on sale for the first time in Cheers Wines, Beijing retail chain of imported wine. The chain is founded in China in 2008 by Masueger family (Switzerland), who are engaged in winemaking business since 1898, the Ministry noted.

    AS OF JUNE 30, LAND TRANSPORT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 22.9% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in insurance of land transport (except railroad) as of June 30, amounted to 39.6 million lari, increasing by 22.9% year-on-year. This segment accounts for 16% of total insurance premium for the period.


    AS OF JUNE 30, AIR TRANSPORT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 266.9% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in air transport insurance (hull insurance) as of June 30, totaled to 2.14 million lari, increasing by 266.9% year-on-year. This kind of insurance still accounts for 0.9% of total premium for the period.


    “SILK ROAD BANK” CONVOKES EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS

    Silk Road Bank declared about convocation of extraordinary meeting of shareholders on October 16.

    One of subjects, included in agenda of the meeting, is selection of external auditor for verification of the bank’s financial statements for 2017.


    “LIBERTY SECURITIES” CHANGED NAME

    According to order, issued by president of National Bank of Georgia, brokerage company Liberty Securities is renamed into Heritage Securities.

    Corresponding amendments were made to order of head of Financial Supervision Agency of 2009 about issue of license to the company.
