RESTAURANTS IN MTSKHETA MUNICIPALITY TO CLOSE AT 22:00
At the meeting today, coordination council, created by Georgian government for fight against COVID-19, decided to oblige restaurants, located in Mtskheta municipality, to end work in 22:00. Until now, similar restrictions were introduced in Tbilisi, Ajara and Imereti region.
SINCE NOVEMBER, GEORGIA TO RESUME REGULAR FLIGHTS ON SEVERAL DIRECTION
At the meeting today, coordination council, created by Georgian government for fight against COVID-19, decided to allow airlines to resume gradually since November the regular flights in several directions. In particular, flights will be resumed to Amsterdam, Athens, Dortmund, Katowice, Milan, Vienna, Vilnius and Warsaw.

9 MONTHS’ ESTIMATION: SHARE OF THE EU IN GEORGIA’S EXPORT DECREASED BY 1.5 PP Y-O-Y, WHILE OF THE CIS – BY 7.9 PP
Sakstat released estimation, according to which in Georgia’s export for January-September, share of EU countries made up 21.3%. If compared with the same period of 2019 (22.8%), the share has reduced by 1.5 percentage points (pp).
AS OF 9 MONTHS, CARS ARE STILL IN THE LEAD IN GEORGIA’S IMPORT
Sakstat released estimation, according to which in Georgia’s import for January-September, cars were still the biggest article. Import of this article amounted to $560.2 million and made 9.8% of total import of the country for the period.
AS OF 9 MONTHS, COPPER IS STILL IN THE LEAD IN GEORGIA’S EXPORT
Sakstat released estimation, according to which in Georgia’s export for January-September, copper ore and concentrates were still the biggest article. Export of this article amounted to $541.7 million and made 22.5% of total export of the country for the period.
AT 3 AUCTIONS IN OCTOBER, NBG SOLD IN TOTAL $80M
At 3 currency auctions, held in October (October 2, 9 and 19), National Bank of Georgia sold in total $80 million. At the auction, held on October 19, NBG sold $30 million, while average weighted rate made up 3.21 GEL/USD.
GEORGIAN AVERAGE CONSUMER’S LIVING WAGE IN SEPTEMBER DECREASED BY 1.5% Q-O-Q AND BY 3.2% Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that living wage of Georgian average consumer amounted in September to 162.9 lari. The indicator has decreased by 2.4 lari (by 1.5%) quarter-on-quarter and by 5 lari (or 3.2%) year-on-year.
AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, NUMBER OF DEBIT CARDS INCREASED BY 1.9% Q-O-Q AND BY 5.1% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that as of September 30, there were 6.3 million debit cards in circulation in the country. The number has increased by 1.9% quarter-on-quarter and by 5.1% year-on-year.
AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, NUMBER OF CREDIT CARDS DECREASED BY 5.1% Q-O-Q AND BY 20.7% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that as of September 30, there were 518,661 credit cards in circulation in the country. The number has decreased by 5.1% quarter-on-quarter and by 20.7% year-on-year.
AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, NUMBER OF ATMS INCREASED BY 8.1% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that as of September 30, there were 2,658 ATMs installed countrywide. The number has increased by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter and by 8.1% year-on-year.
“MAGTICOM” ASSERTS THAT MANDATORY ADMISSION OF MVNO ON LOCAL MARKET WILL BRING NEGATIVE RESULTS, COMMUNICATION COMMISSION REJECTS THIS
Georgian telecom operator MagtiCom declared that mandatory admission of mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) on Georgian market will bring negative results for the country. As MagtiCom specified, Georgian National Communication Commission did not present until now any expert conclusion that this regulation will be successful and will bring any positive results.
