    SPEAKER: THE PARLIAMENT WILL VOTE CONFIDENCE TO NEW COMPOSITION OF THE GOVERNMENT AT THE END OF DECEMBER OR IN THE FIRST HALF OF JANUARY

    Chairman of the Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze declared that the Parliament will vote confidence to new composition of the government “at the end of December or in the 1st half of January”.

    The government has initiated draft of the changes, so consultations in connection with terms will begin now, Kobakhidze declared to journalists.


    DEPUTY MINISTER OF ECONOMY: AT TBILISI SILK ROAD FORUM, WE EXPECT TOP FIGURES OF 34 COUNTRIES AND REPRESENTATIVES OF BUSINESS FROM OVER 50 COUNTRIES

    Over 1,000 delegates from 50 countries of the world will take part in Silk Road Forum, which will take place in Tbilisi on November 28-29, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported.

    Deputy Minister Genady Arveladze said: “In total, we expect top figures of 34 countries and also representatives of business from over 50 countries of the world”.


    GEORGIA AND SERBIA SIGNED TRADE AND ECONOMIC AGREEMENT

    Agreement between the governments of Georgia and Serbia on trade and economic relations was signed in Tbilisi today.

    The document was signed by Georgia’s first Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitri Kumsishvili and Serbia’s Deputy Premier, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic.

    HOLDING OF JAPANESE-GEORGIAN BUSINESS FORUM IS PLANNED

    MP Levan Koberidze, head of the parliamentarian Georgia-Japan group, met today with new ambassador of Japan Tadaharu Uehara.

    At the meeting, which was of introductory nature, the ambassador confirmed readiness to strengthen relations even more and suggested several concrete ideas in connection with Japan-Georgia business forum, Koberidze said.


    GEORGIA’S INVESTMENT ENVIRONMENT IS DISCUSSED IN LONDON

    Conference “Outlook on Georgia 2017”, dedicated to Georgia’s economic environment, was opened in London today. Organizers of the event are EBRD and Emerging Europe, London-based think tank.


    35 ORGANIZATIONS TOOK PART IN “START IN GEORGIA” EXHIBITION

    In Tbilisi exhibition center ExpoGeorgia, “Start in Georgia” exhibition was held on November 18. The event, in which 35 organizations took part, was organized by Georgian company Start – Business Solutions and Association of Georgian Startups.


    ABOUT 100 COMPANIES FROM 16 COUNTRIES TAKE PART IN TBILISI INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD INDUSTRY

    Today, the 17th international agro/food/drink/tech exhibition was started in Tbilisi exhibition center ExpoGeorgia. The event, in which about 100 companies from 16 countries take part, will last until November 22, the Agriculture Ministry reported.


    WORK ON IMPROVED MODEL OF ANIMAL IDENTIFICATION AND TRACING SYSTEM IS UNDERWAY

    The working group works on improved model of National Animal Identification and Tracing System (NAITS), reported representation of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

    As the representation noted, the group consists of representatives of FAO and Georgian National Food Agency and involves invited French expert.


    THE GOVERNMENT: DIGGING OF 8.5-KM KVISHKHETI-ZVARE TUNNEL IS COMPLETED

    The government declared that digging of 8.5 km Kvishkheti-Zvare tunnel, which had been conducted within the project of railway infrastructure modernization, is finished.

    Presentation of construction of the tunnel, which is part of the project on modernization of Tbilisi-Makhinjauri (Ajara) railway line, took place on November 19.

    GEORGIAN CO-INVESTMENT FUND AND “HUNNEWELL PARTNERS” PLAN TO INVEST $100M IN PRODUCTION OF CEMENT AND CONCRETE

    Georgia Co-Investment Fund and Hunnewell Partners, which acquired together 50% of Georgian business of German group HeidelbergCement, plan to invest $100 million in production of cement and concrete.

    While declaring the mentioned, the Co-Investment Fund specified that the partners will provide this sum pro rata, while fulfillment of investment plans is calculated for the next 5 years.
