THE EU AND GEORGIA APPROVED UPDATED ASSOCIATION AGENDA FOR 2017-2020

The EU and Georgia approved the updated Association agenda for 2017-2020, the EU representation in Georgia reported.

As the representation noted, the new document is based on the previous Agenda for the 2014-2016 and defines priorities, which have to be fulfilled in course of further implementation of the Association Agreement and its part, related to free trade (DCFTA).

IN Q3, PRODUCTION OF MEAT, MILK AND EGGS DECREASED

Sakstat released estimations, according to which production of meat in the 3^rd quarter amounted to 12,000 t. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume decreased by 17.8%.




MORE THAN A HALF OF SLAUGHTERHOUSES IS LOCATED IN KVEMO KARTLI, IMERETI AND KAKHETI

Sakstat released estimations, according to which there were 75 slaughterhouses in the 3^rd quarter in Georgia.

Out of total, three regions account for combined 52%, including 18.7% in Kvemo Kartli, 17.3% – in Imereti and 16% – in Kakheti.




IN WESTERN GEORGIA, CREATION OF HOTHOUSE FARMS’ ASSOCIATIONS IS PLANNED

Agriculture Ministry declared that its Agency for Agricultural Projects Management plans creation of associations of hothouse farms in Western Georgia.

“Association, which means production and distribution of various vegetables, mainly of greens, will act as some kind of regional hub”, the Ministry said.




CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BRIDGE OVER KVIRILA RIVER WILL BE COMPLETED IN SPRING OF 2018

Roads Department of highways reported that construction of new bridge over Kvirila River on Zestaponi-Baghdati road of interstate importance (Imereti region) was started in March. The works will be completed in spring of 2018, the Department said.

“TRIMEDIA INTELLIGENCE”: “WATCHABILITY” RATE OF GEORGIAN CHANNELS DECREASED IN OCTOBER BY 21.23% Y-O-Y, OF FOREIGN CHANNELS – INCREASED BY 26.67%

Referring to LLC TriMedia Intelligence, National Communication Commission reported that general “watchability” rate of TV channels (average audience of the channel during 1 min) in October has decreased by 9.37% year-on-year.

At that, the rate of Georgian channels has decreased by 21.23%, while of foreign ones and channels of cable operators has increased by 26.67%, the Commission said.




REGULATING COMMISSION FINED “MOBITEL” WITH 30,000 LARI

National Communication Commission declared about fine of 30,000 lari, imposed on LLC Mobitel (Beeline).

As the Commission said, the penalty is caused by transformation of foreign calls into local ones and absence of written contracts with subscribers.

WITHIN CONSTRUCTION OF HIGH-VOLTAGE LINE JVARI-KHORGA, LAND PLOT WILL BE EXPROPRIATED

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that privately owned land plot will be expropriated within construction of the high-voltage line Jvari-Khorga.

The matter concerns part (484 square m) of arable land site (3,635 square m), located in Tsalenjikha municipality (Samegrelo region), which is owned by private individual.
