GEORGIA AND CANADA HELD THE 4TH ROUND OF NEGOTIATIONS ON INVESTMENTS PROMOTION AGREEMENT
On November 16-18, the 4th round of negotiations on the foreign investments promotion agreement (FIPA) between Georgia and Canada took place in Ottawa (Canada). Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development noted that in 2018, the Canadian side proposed Georgia to consider a new model draft of the agreement.
INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM WAS HELD IN GEORGIA FOR THE 8TH TIME
The 8th internet governance forum GeoIGF 2022 was held in Georgia today. The event, which was held in a hybrid format, covered up to 20 thematic sessions and speeches, reported Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
GEORGIAN MINISTER: “AGRI LNG” PROJECT BECAME ESPECIALLY TOPICAL THIS YEAR
Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, indicated that the project of LNG terminal, on which Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary had worked as far back as 2015, was suspended since that. However, following the current processes, when Europe is particularly interested in alternative sources of gas supply, “this project has become especially topical this year”, the Minister declared to journalists after the government meeting today.

ADB TO ALLOCATE 100.19M EUR TO GEORGIA FOR FISCAL SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL PROTECTION PROGRAM
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) allocates 100.19 million EUR to Georgia for the fiscal sustainability and social protection program, Georgian Finance Ministry reported. The corresponding agreement was signed in Tbilisi today.
IT IS PLANNED TO SPEND 225M LARI ON CONSTRUCTION OF KHASHURI WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM
The Georgian government reported that work is beginning on a project for construction of a water supply and sewerage system in Khashuri (Shida Kartli region). Total cost of the project makes up about 225 million lari, the government reported.

GEORGIA ISSUED FIRST DIGITAL BANKING LICENSE
On November 17, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) issued the country’s first digital banking license to JSC Paysera Georgia. After receiving the license, Paysera Georgia will operate in test mode within 4 months, NBG said.
GEORGIAN MINISTER: LONG-TERM RESTRUCTURING OF “BORJOMI” HOLDING COMPANY IS ON AGENDA
The long-term restructuring of the Borjomi holding company is on the agenda, Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared to journalists after the government meeting today. The Minister attributed the mentioned to the need for the company’s structure to be “more adequate, more flexible and meet better the challenges that have arisen because of the current situation”.
COMPETITION AGENCY GAVE CONSENT ON CONCENTRATION IN GEORGIAN CONSTRUCTION SECTOR
Georgian National Competition Agency declared about consent, issued to LLC CMC and Zaza Gogotishvili regarding planned concentration through establishing of a joint venture. The concentration concerns the import/export markets of building materials, construction and architectural services.
