FINANCE MINISTER: GEORGIA’S POSITION IN OPEN BUDGET INDEX CONSIDERABLY IMPROVED

Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili declared that Georgia’s position in Open Budget Index is considerably improved.

Among 102 reviewed countries, Georgia is on the 16^th position, among most transparent countries, the Minister pointed.




AUTHOR OF ECONOMIC FREEDOM RATING: MAJORITY OF COUNTRIES WOULD WISH TO HAVE THE SAME ECONOMIC SYSTEM, AS IN GEORGIA TODAY

One of authors of “Economic Freedom of the World” rating of Fraser Institute, professor Robert Lawson pointed that “Majority of countries would wish to have the same economic system, as in Georgia today”.

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that Lawson, who pays visit in Georgia (on September 18-22), declared that at the meeting, which took place in the Ministry today.

ADB EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: COOPERATION BETWEEN ADB AND GEORGIA HAS POSITIVE FUTURE PROSPECTS

Cooperation between Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Georgia “is very strong and has positive future prospects”, executive director of ADB Mathew Fox declared.

Georgian Finance Ministry quotes statement of Fox, made at his meeting with Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili, where the parties considered ongoing and future projects of ADB in Georgia.




ROADS DEPARTMENT: CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD TO GERGETI TRINITY CHURCH WILL COME TO THE END IN AUTUMN 2018

Roads Department declared that construction of road, leading to Holy Trinity Church of Gergeti (monument of 14^th century in Kazbegi municipality of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region), which was started in May, will come to the end in autumn 2018.

Construction of 5.6-km road section is financed from the state budget, the Department noted, specifying that cost of the project amounts to 7.79 million lari.




PUBLIC REGISTER: PARTICIPANTS OF INTERNATIONAL FORUM ACQUAINTED WITH BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

World Trade Organization and EBRD organized in Tbilisi the regional forum on international trade and government procurements (September 11-22).

As Georgian National Agency of Public Register reported, presentation of project on electronic services and use of blockchain technology was held for participants of the forum.

MEDICAL INSURANCE ACCOUNTS FOR 63.7% IN PORTFOLIO OF “GPIH”

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by GPIH as of June 30, share of medical (health) insurance makes up 63.7%. In this segment, the company attracted 41 million lari (year-on-year growth – 117.4%).




PROPERTY INSURANCE ACCOUNTS FOR 37.2% IN PORTFOLIO OF “ALDAGI”

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Aldagi as of June 30, share of property insurance makes up 37.2%. In this segment, the company attracted 18.54 million lari (year-on-year growth – 29.5%).




MEDICAL INSURANCE ACCOUNTS FOR 94.2% IN PORTFOLIO OF “IMEDI-L”

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Imedi-L as of June 30, share of medical (health) insurance makes up 94.2%. In this segment, the company attracted 28.54 million lari (year-on-year reduction – 28.9%).




ECONOMY MINISTRY: GEORGIAN KEYBOARD APPEARED IN IOS 11 SYSTEM OF “APPLE”

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that Georgian keyboard is officially added to iOS 11 operating system of Apple Inc.

As the Ministry said, it holds negotiations with Apple in order to include Georgia in the list of officially supported countries.




WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”, “SVETI” PLANS TO LAUNCH STONE-WORKING

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that LLC Sveti, beneficiary of industrial direction of Produce in Georgia Agency, plans to launch stone-working enterprise.

Volume of investments, made with support of the Agency, makes 750,000 lari, the Ministry said.
