    ISSUES OF PROPERTY SEIZURE FOR PURPOSES OF CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS ARE BEING REGULATED IN A NEW WAY

    Today, the Georgian Parliament approved (74 votes “pro”) in third (final) hearing amendments to the Georgian Code of Criminal Procedure.

    These amendments regulate the issues of seizure of property for the purposes of criminal proceedings in a new way, the Parliament reported, pointing that the Code is brought into line with the Constitution of Georgia.

    ADB RAISED GEORGIA’S ECONOMIC GROWTH FORECAST TO 7%

    September forecast of Asian Development Bank (ADB) expects Georgia’s economy in 2022 to grow by 7%, while in 2023 – by 6%.

    In April, ADB forecasted growth for 2022 at 3.5%, while for 2023 – at 5%.


    GEORGIA RANKS 50TH IN GLOBAL DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP INDEX

    In its new Global Index of Digital Entrepreneurship Systems, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) ranks Georgia the 50th among 113 countries.

    Among Georgia’s neighbors, Armenia is on the 58th place, Azerbaijan – on the 60th place.


    GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT HOSTED DISCUSSION ON SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

    The issues of social entrepreneurship were discussed in a round table format in the Georgian Parliament today. The discussion scoped the current state, existing challenges and initiatives for legislative recognition, the Parliament reported.


    FOREST INVENTORY WAS CONDUCTED IN DEDOPLISTSKARO AND TETRITSKARO MUNICIPALITIES

    An inventory of forests has been conducted in Dedoplistskaro (Kakheti region) and Tetritskaro (Kvemo Kartli region) municipalities on an area of 77,537 ha, reported Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. As a result, forest management plans were prepared.

    AS OF JUNE 30, LOSS OF “PASHA BANK GEORGIA” INCREASED 2.3 TIMES Y-O-Y

    Pasha Bank Georgia reported loss of 3.3 million lari for the 2nd quarter. If compared with the same quarter of 2021, the volume has increased 2.3 times.


    AS OF JUNE 30, “SILK ROAD BANK” RECORDED LOSS

    Silk Road Bank reported loss of 1.9 million lari for the 2nd quarter. In the same period of 2021, the bank’s net profit totaled to 226,620 lari (though, the bank still finished 2021 with loss of 919,000 lari).


    GEORGIAN OFFICE OF “LINEATE” EMPLOYS UP TO 60 PEOPLE

    Up to 60 people are employed currently at the regional office of the American IT company Lineate in Georgia, the State Agency Produce in Georgia reported. The company’s offices are located in 4 countries.
