    PACE OBSERVERS AND EU REPRESENTATION URGE ALL POLITICAL PARTIES TO TAKE UP THEIR SEATS IN GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT

    Co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of Georgia, Titus Corlatean (Romania, SOC) and Claude Kern (France, ALDE), indicate that parliamentary elections, which took place in Georgia on October 31, “have resulted in a diverse parliament where the ruling majority will face a strong opposition, that can ensure proper parliamentary oversight”.

    “For the sake of Georgia’s democratic consolidation, we therefore call on all parties to accept the mandates they won in these elections and enter into the new parliament”, the co-rapporteurs said in the statement, released on November 23.


    THE GOVERNMENT PLANS TO EXPAND POINTED RESTRICTIONS

    Administration of Georgian government reported that it is planned to expand pointed restrictions in the country. At that, the administration stressed that full lockdown is not planned at this stage.

    IN Q3, VOLUME OF PRODUCTION, STORED IN ELEVATORS, DECREASED BY 37.6% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that 133,000 t of production were placed in Georgian elevators in the 3rd quarter. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has reduced by 37.6%.


    IN Q3, VOLUME OF PRODUCTION, STORED IN REFRIGERATING FACILITIES, INCREASED BY 35% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that 76,800 t of production were placed in Georgian refrigerating facilities in the 3rd quarter. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 35%.


    IN Q3, SLAUGHTERHOUSES’ MEAT PRODUCTION INCREASED BY 1.3% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 3rd quarter, Georgian slaughterhouses produced 10,224 t of meat. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 1.3%.

    IN 9 MONTHS, REVENUES OF RADIO BROADCASTERS REDUCED BY 37.4% Y-O-Y

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that revenues of Georgian radio broadcasters totaled in 9 months of this year to 3.3 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has reduced by 37.4%.


    IN 9 MONTHS, INCOME FROM INTERNET SERVICE INCREASED BY 5% Y-O-Y

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 9 months of this year, Georgian internet service providers gained income of 180.8 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 5%.


    IN 9 MONTHS, INCOME FROM SMS REDUCED BY 24.6% Y-O-Y

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that Georgian mobile operators’ income from service of short text messages (SMS) totaled in 9 months of this year to 6.3 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has decreased by 24.6%.
