GEORGIAN-CZECH BUSINESS FORUM WAS HELD IN PRAGUE
Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported about Georgian-Czech business forum and meeting of bilateral commission on economic cooperation, which were held in Prague. The forum was organized by Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Czech Chamber of Commerce.
FAO STUDY: MOST OF RESPONDENTS IN GEORGIA CONFIRMS EXISTENCE OF PROBLEM OF FOOD LOSS
According to study, conducted with assistance of the EU and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), most of respondents in Georgia’s regions confirms existence of problem of food loss and waste and points at necessity to address this issue urgently. The study identified a major reason of losses as “lack of awareness among farmers and processors on good agricultural practices and post-harvest management skills, as well as lack of knowledge about new technologies coupled with lack of access to technology”, the FAO expert said.
PRESIDENT OF ICAO COUNCIL TO VISIT GEORGIA
Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that president of Council of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu and director of this organization’s European and North Atlantic office Luis Fonseca De Almeida will visit Georgia by invitation of Civil Aviation Agency of the country. The Ministry noted that council president of ICAO visit Georgia will for the first time.
TBILISI MAYOR: FORMER INDUSTRIAL TERRITORIES CAN BE DEVELOPED IN VARIOUS DIRECTIONS, IMPORTANT FOR THE CITY
Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania declared that one of directions, on which group for the capital’s master development plan has been working, are so-called “brownfields” (land sites of abandoned industrial facilities). In due time, these territories were used for industrial purpose, while now, after a pause, can be developed in various directions, important for the city, Narmania noted.

LITHUANIAN “SMALL PLANET AIRLINES” TO CONDUCT FLIGHTS BETWEEN WARSAW AND BATUMI
TAV Georgia (operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports) reported that Lithuanian air carrier Small Planet Airlines is going to start direct flights between Warsaw (Poland) and Batumi. The flights will be conducted during summer season, every Sunday starting from May 26.
TOURISM ADMINISTRATION: FLIGHTS FROM TBILISI TO KAZAN ARE APPOINTED
Georgian National Tourism Administration reported that Georgian air carrier Georgian Airways is going to start flights between Tbilisi and Kazan (Russia). The flights will be conducted twice a week, starting from June 2.
LAND PLOTS TO BE HANDED OVER TO “BLACK SEA GROUP” THROUGH DIRECT SALE
The government will hand over state property to Black Sea Group through direct sale for 199,300 lari. The company should pay the mentioned sum within 6 months.
LLC “BIO FJ” TO GET LAND PLOT FOR THE SYMBOLICAL PRICE WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM
According to the government’s order, state property will be handed over within “Produce in Georgia” state program to LLC Bio FJ for symbolical price of 1 lari. The matter concerns nonagricultural land site of 16,625 square m with constructions (total area of 109 square m), located on the territory of forestry’s yard in the city of Akhaltsikhe (Samtskhe-Javakheti region).

THREE PERSONS DETAINED ON ACCUSATION OF PRODUCTION AND REALIZATION OF FALSE TAX STAMPS IN LARGE VOLUME
Investigative Service of the Finance Ministry declared about detention of two citizens of Turkey and one citizen of Georgia on accusation of production and realization of false tax stamps, committed in large number by preliminary agreement. The Service said that the accused were arrested at the moment of false excise stamps realization.
GEORGIAN SPORTS STATISTICS PUBLISHED ON THE WEB
Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs declared that web portal of Georgian sports statistics is created. Work on unified portal was conducted since 2015, the Ministry noted.
