    “GEORGIAN DREAM” HELD FIRST SESSION OF PARLIAMENT OF 11TH CONVOCATION

    Today, the first session of the Georgia Parliament of 11th convocation was held, at which 89 deputies were registered (all representing only the Georgian Dream party). They recognized powers (certified) of all 150 members of Parliament (88 votes pro).


    “TI GEORGIA”: GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT’S SESSION ON NOVEMBER 25 IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL

    The meeting of the Georgian Parliament on November 25 contradicts the Constitution, since the President did not convene the first session of the Parliament of the new convocation, indicated TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International. According to the organization, there is a “straightforward and severe violation” of the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament itself.


    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE 3 NEW MINISTERS

    Today, an updated composition of the Georgian government, in which we have made some changes, has been presented to the Georgian Parliament to announce a vote of confidence, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared at the news briefing today. These changes concern the Foreign Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, he said.


    STRUCTURAL CHANGES TO BE MADE IN GEORGIAN SPECIAL INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE

    Georgian special investigative service declared about started reorganization. In particular, as part of the reorganization, a department for the investigation of special cases will be formed on the basis of the investigative department.


    OPPOSITION POLITICIAN: IN SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER, NBG SOLD $700M

    Official information has been published, according to which the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has sold $700 million in September-October (including $591 million in October), opposition politician Roman Gotsiridze (NBG president in 2005-2007) posted on the social network.

    According to Gotsiridze, “the two-month criminal election campaign of the Georgian Dream squandered the country’s currency reserves”.

    ACTING NBG PRESIDENT: ACCELERATION OF FINANCIAL SERVICES’ INTEGRATION IN THE EU MARKET IS A PRIORITY

    For the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), acceleration of financial services’ integration in the EU market is a priority, NBG acting president Natia Turnava declared.

    As NBG reported, Turnava took part in the panel discussion held at the annual Conference on European Economic Integration (CEEI).


    “GALT&TAGGART”: IN 2024, PACE OF SALES IN BATUMI REAL ESTATE MARKET SLOWED DOWN

    After record high demand in 2022-2023, the pace of sales in the Batumi real estate market slowed down in 2024, Galt&Taggart said in the market overview.

    This slowdown was due to a combination of factors, including a gradual outflow of migrants, rising prices, high interest rates and domestic political instability, Galt&Taggart explains.


    “GALT&TAGGART”: IN Q3, SALES OF APARTMENTS IN BAKURIANI INCREASED Y-O-Y, IN GUDAURI – DECREASED

    In the 3rd quarter, 352 apartments were sold in Bakuriani (alpine resort in Georgia), increasing in number by 51.1% year-on-year, Galt&Taggart reports. The company attributes the growth to late registration.
