“TI GEORGIA” INDICATES AGIN THE NEED OF CREATION OF GEORGIAN REGISTER OF BENEFICIARY OWNERS

In the current situation, another reason has emerged for creation of a register of beneficiary owners in Georgia, declared TI Georgia (Georgian branch of Transparency International).

“After Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent decision by Western countries to fully engage their sanctions regimes, beneficial ownership registries have become one of the main tools for tracing sanctioned persons and their assets”, the organization explains.

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that travel insurance premium, attracted by Georgian insurers in 2022, totaled to 10.97 million lari. If compared with 2021, the volume has increased by 75%.

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that cargo insurance premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in 2022, amounted to 12.32 million lari. If compared with 2021, the volume has increased by 20%.




IN 2022, ACCIDENT INSURANCE PREMIUM IN GEORGIA INCREASED BY JUST 0.3%

Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that accident insurance premium, attracted by Georgian insurance companies in 2022, amounted to 14.5 million lari. If compared with 2021, the volume has increased by only 0.3%.




“FITCH” UPGRADED RATING OF “TBC LEASING”

Fitch Ratings declared about upgrade of long-term issuer default rating of TBC Leasing from “BB-” to “BB”, with “stable” outlook.

The agency said that the upgrade is caused by improve of the long-term default rating of TBC Bank, which is sole shareholder of TBC Leasing.




“UZBEKISTAN AIRWAYS” LAUNCHED FLIGHTS BETWEEN TASHKENT AND BATUMI

Uzbekistan’s flag carrier Uzbekistan Airways has started flights between Tashkent and Batumi, reported TAV Georgia (operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports).

During the summer navigation period, the airline will operate regular flights twice a week (on Wednesdays and Saturdays).
