ECONOMY MINISTER: EU MARKET OF PUBLIC PROCUREMENTS OF GOODS OPENED FOR GEORGIAN COMPANIES
Levan Davitashvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared that the market of procurement of goods by the central authorities of the EU has been opened for Georgian companies. Corresponding decision of the EU was published on July 22, he noted.

IN H1, LARGEST ARTICLE OF GEORGIA’S EXPORT TO TURKEY WAS ELECTRICITY
Sakstat released estimation for the first half of this year, according to which Georgia’s largest trade partner in this period was Turkey, which accounted for 15.3% of Georgia’s total trade turnover, or $1.29 billion. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 37%.

Sakstat released estimation for the first half of this year, according to which Russia was Georgia’s second largest trade partner, accounting for 11.4% of total trade turnover, or $962.22 million. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 31.8%.
IN H1, GEORGIA’S TRADE WITH CHINA INCREASED BY 41.3% Y-O-Y
Sakstat released estimation for the first half of this year, according to which China was Georgia’s third largest trade partner, accounting for 10.9% of total trade turnover, or $922.5 million. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 41.3%.
“TBC CAPITAL”: IN 2022, INTERNATIONAL VISITS TO AJARA WILL REACH 75% OF 2019 LEVEL
TBC Capital expects that in 2022, international visits to Ajara will reach 75% of the level of pre-pandemic 2019. In summer period (June-August), the recovery will be even stronger – within 85%, the company forecasts.
IMPROVEMENT OF NEW BOULEVARD IN KOBULETI COST 8.1M LARI
On July 24, a new boulevard was opened in Kobuleti (Ajara). Works on the coastal strip improvement and landscaping have been carried out since summer 2021.
GOVERNMENT PLANS TO REGULATE STREET TRADE
At the meeting today, Georgian government considered draft amendments to Georgia’s Administrative Offences Code, aiming settlement of street trade issues. In particular, the amendments envisage sanctions and fines for street trading without permission and placement of inappropriate advertising on the territory of the municipality, the government reported.

BECAUSE OF VIOLATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS, LLC “AMBICON STEELS” WAS FINED
Environmental Supervision Department of Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that within monitoring of implementation of environmental requirements, LLC Ambicon Steels (metallurgical enterprise) was inspected in this March. In April, the relevant materials on the detected violation were submitted to the court, which recognized on June 26 the LLC as an offender and imposed fine of 45,000 lari, the Department reported.
