GEORGIAN PRESIDENT: ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN GEORGIA AND ARMENIA DID NOT WEAKEN
“In spite of the fact that we signed Association Agreement with the EU and have free trade with Europe, while Armenia is member of the Eurasian Customs Union, this circumstance did not undermine economic cooperation between our countries in any way”, Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili declared. “On the contrary, we see that freight turnover between our countries has grew this year, as well as tourism grows annually”, Georgian President pointed.

Georgian Energy Development Fund declared that its new head will be Tornike Rizhvadze. He replaced Mamuka Kobakhidze in the office.

FINANCE MINISTER: ALL CUSTOMS SERVICES WILL GO ELECTRONIC
Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that “from the next year, considerable steps will be taken in the direction of digital customs development”. As a result, “all services, existing at customs, will be possible to provide to taxpayers electronically”, he specified.
OFFICE OF ENERGY OMBUDSMAN: REFERRAL RATE IN 2017 EXCEEDED 6 TIMES SHOWING OF 2013
Office of Energy Ombudsman reported that referral rate in 2017 has increased almost 6 times in comparison with 2016. “This indicator points, on the one hand, at increase of customer awareness of citizens, while on the other hand, at problems in the system”, the Office declared.
COMMUNICATION COMMISSION: TARIFFS FOR WHOLESALE ADMISSION TO INTERNET SERVICE WILL BE HALVED
National Communication Commission declared that as a result of completion of the 1st stage of working process with providers, tariff for wholesale admission to Internet service, which amounts currently to 32 lari, will be halved since December 30. The Commission noted that it continues complex study and analysis of corresponding segments of Internet service market.
INVENTORY OF VINEYARDS IS CARRIED OUT IN AKHMETA MUNICIPALITY
National Wine Agency reported about completion of program of vineyards’ inventory in Akhmeta municipality (Kakheti region). The Agency pointed that Georgia had no such system until now.

AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, PREMIUM IN LAND TRANSPORT INSURANCE INCREASED BY 21.7% Y-O-Y
State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted as of September 30 in land transport insurance (except railway), amounted to 55.79 million lari, increasing year-on-year by 21.7%. This kind of insurance accounted for 16.1% of total premium, attracted for the period.
AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, PREMIUM IN AIR TRANSPORT INSURANCE INCREASED BY 136.4% Y-O-Y
State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted as of September 30 in air transport insurance (hull insurance), amounted to 5.52 million lari, increasing year-on-year by 136.4%. This kind of insurance accounted for 1.6% of total premium, attracted for the period.
AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, PREMIUM IN WATER TRANSPORT INSURANCE DECREASED BY 13.3% Y-O-Y
State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted as of September 30 in water transport insurance, amounted to 319,198 lari, decreasing year-on-year by 13.3%. This kind of insurance accounted for 0.1% of total premium, attracted for the period.
INSURANCE OF RAILWAY TRANSPORT WAS CONDUCTED BY 2 COMPANIES
State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that as of September 30, 2 companies (GPI Holding and Global Benefits Georgia) reported attraction of premium in railway transport insurance. In total, premium in this segment amounted to 361,660 lari, increasing year-on-year by 117.4%.
