    AS OF JUNE 30, NUMBER OF PAYMENT CARDS, ISSUED BY GEORGIAN BANKS, INCREASED BY 10% Y-O-Y

    As of June 30, number of payment cards, issued by Georgian banks, totaled to 9.13 million, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the number has increased by 10%.


    AS OF JUNE 30, NUMBER OF DEBIT CARDS IN GEORGIA INCREASED BY 10.8% Y-O-Y

    As of June 30, there were 8.56 million debit cards in circulation in the country, National Bank of Georgia reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the number has increased by 10.8%.


    AS OF JUNE 30, NUMBER OF CREDIT CARDS IN GEORGIA DECREASED BY 0.6% Y-O-Y

    As of June 30, there were 562,350 credit cards in circulation in the country, National Bank of Georgia reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the number has decreased by 0.6%.


    IN Q2, VOLUME OF TRANSACTIONS WITHIN GEORGIA BY PAYMENT CARDS OF RESIDENT ISSUERS INCREASED BY 18.5% Y-O-Y

    In the 2nd quarter, transactions of 18.76 billion lari were made within Georgia by payment cards issued by resident issuers, National Bank of Georgia reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the volume has increased by 18.5%.


    IN Q2, VOLUME OF TRANSACTIONS OUTSIDE GEORGIA BY PAYMENT CARDS OF RESIDENT ISSUERS INCREASED BY 28.6% Y-O-Y

    In the 2nd quarter, transactions equivalent of 2.4 billion lari were made outside Georgia by payment cards issued by resident issuers, National Bank of Georgia reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the volume has increased by 28.6%.


    IN Q2, VOLUME OF TRANSACTIONS IN GEORGIA BY PAYMENT CARDS OF NON-RESIDENT BANKS INCREASED BY 25.3% Y-O-Y

    In the 2nd quarter, transactions of 1.06 billion lari were made in Georgia by payment cards issued by non-resident banks, National Bank of Georgia reported. If compared to the same period of 2023, the volume has increased by 25.3%.


    IN Q2, VOLUME OF E-COMMERCE TRANSACTIONS BY GEORGIAN PAYMENT CARDS INCREASED BY 18% Y-O-Y

    In the 2nd quarter, 52.9 million e-commerce transactions totaling to 4.1 billion lari were carried out by Georgian payment cards, National Bank of Georgia reported.

    If compared to the same period of 2023, the transactions have increased by 15% in number and by 18% in volume.

    ADB PURCHASED “GGU” BONDS OF $40M

    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) declared about investment of $40 million in bonds, issued by Georgia Global Utilities (GGU, Tbilisi water company).

    ADB specified that the funding includes $20 million from ADB’s ordinary capital resources.
