AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, GEORGIA’S TOTAL FOREIGN DEBT MADE UP 102.3% OF GDP
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that total foreign debt of the country amounted as of September 30 to $17.8 billion (52.6 billion lari). This volume corresponds to 102.3% of GDP for the last four quarters (against of 107.4% in the same period of 2018), NBG specified.
IN Q3, GEORGIA’S BALANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS WAS STILL POSITIVE
Similar to last year, Georgia’s balance of international payments was positive in the 3rd quarter of this year, making up $16.5 million, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported. In comparison with the same period of previous year, the positive balance increased by 34.8%, making up 0.4% of GDP, against of 0.3%.
AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, GEORGIA’S NET INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT POSITION WAS STILL NEGATIVE, MAKING UP 130.7% OF GDP
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of September 30, net international investment position of the country was negative, making up $22.8 billion in volume (67.2 billion lari). This volume corresponds to 130.7% of the country’s GDP for the last 4 quarters, NBG specified.
PRIME MINISTER: UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE PROGRAM NEEDS CERTAIN MODERNIZATION
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that universal healthcare program (launched in 2013) “needs certain modernization in order to be more sustained and successful”.

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that the Deputy Minister Gennady Arveladze, who is visiting Republic of Korea, met the chairman of Korea Importers Association (KOIMA).
