    GEORGIA’S PREMIER: THE EU MUST TOO PROVE TO US THAT ITS GOAL IS THE WELL-BEING OF OUR COUNTRY AND THE POPULATION

    The government has an ambitious goal to bring Georgia into the EU in 2030, declared Irakli Kobakhidze, nominee for the post of Georgia’s Prime Minister, speaking in the Georgian Parliament today.

    “We must prove to the EU that we want to join, but the EU must prove to us too that its goal is the well-being of our country and the population, to show concern about our traditional values”, Kobakhidze said.


    GEORGIA’S PREMIER: WE WILL HAVE A PRAGMATIC POLICY, WHEN THE MATTER CONCERNS GEORGIA-RUSSIA RELATIONS

    “We will have a pragmatic policy, when it comes to Georgian-Russian relations”, declared Irakli Kobakhidze, nominee for the post of Georgia’s Prime Minister, speaking in the Georgian Parliament today.

    “Pragmatic policy is one of the main tools for preserving peace and protecting the strategic interests of our country”, Kobakhidze said.


    GEORGIA’S PARLIAMENT EXPRESSED CONFIDENCE IN THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS PROGRAM FOR 2025-2028

    Today, Georgia’s Parliament expressed confidence in the government led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the government program for 2025-2028 “To Europe only with peace, dignity and prosperity”.

    In particular, Levan Davitashvili maintained the post of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Lasha Khutsishvili – of the Finance Minister, Irakli Karseladze – of the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure.

    GEORGIA’S PREMIER: GOAL FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS IS TO ATTRACT INVESTMENTS OF $9B AT LEAST

    “In the past 2.5 years alone, we have attracted investments of $5 billion in the country”, declared Irakli Kobakhidze, nominee for the post of Georgia’s Prime Minister, speaking in the Georgian Parliament today. “The goal for the next 4 years is to attract investments of $9 billion at least”, he said.


    GEORGIA’S PREMIER: BY 2028, THE RATE OF GASIFICATION IN GEORGIA WILL REACH 95%

    Since 2012, the rate of gasification in Georgia has increased 3 times, and already in 2025, it will make up 93%, declared Irakli Kobakhidze, nominee for the post of Georgia’s Prime Minister, speaking in the Georgian Parliament today. By 2028, this rate will reach 95%, he assured.


    GEORGIAN MARITIME TRANSPORT AGENCY APPROVED RULE OF USER REGISTRATION AND AUTHORIZATION IN MARITIME “ONE WINDOW” SYSTEM

    Director of Georgian Maritime Transport Agency issued an order, which approves the rule of user registration and authorization in the maritime “one window” system. The rule became effective today, immediately after publication of the order.


    ALL PROCEDURES SUSPENDED AT “KAZBEGI” CUSTOMS CHECKPOINT

    At “Kazbegi” customs checkpoint (border with Russia), all types of customs control procedures have been suspended, the Georgian Revenue Service declared today. The reason is the difficult meteorological situation in the Darial Gorge.

    “WIZZ AIR” CO-FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR GENERAL: WE WILL ADD ANOTHER AIRCRAFT TO THE BASE IN KUTAISI AIRPORT, CONSIDER NEW DIRECTIONS

    In 2025, we expect to add another plane to the base in Kutaisi airport, said Jozsef Varadi, co-founder and director general of the Hungarian low-coster Wizz Air. We consider also the possibility of adding new directions and increase frequency of flights on existing directions, he noted.
