“TI GEORGIA”: ONE OF THE REASONS FOR SUSPENSION OF ANAKLIA PORT CONSTRUCTION COULD BE EXPECTED EXPANSION OF POTI PORT
TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, supposes that one of the reasons for suspension of construction of the deep-water port in Anaklia was the expected expansion of the Poti port, where activities are carried out by persons, associated with Georgian authorities. To remind, in January 2020, Georgian government terminated the investment agreement with Anaklia Development Consortium, which implemented the project of Anaklia port construction.

IN Q1, RPPI INCREASED BY 2% Q-O-Q AND BY 13.6% Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that in the 1st quarter, residential property price index (RPPI) has increased by 2%, if compared with the 4th quarter of 2020. If compared with the 1st quarter of 2020, RPPI has increased by 13.6%.
MONETARY POLICY RATE INCREASED BY 1 PP UP TO 9.5%
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that its Monetary Policy Committee decided today to raise the refinancing rate by 1 percentage point. Accordingly, the monetary policy rate makes up 9.5% now.
“ENGURHES” RESUMED OPERATION
Today, after completion of rehabilitation of the derivation tunnel, EngurHES was switched into Georgian power grid again, reported Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Georgia’s largest hydroelectric power station was closed since January 20 for rehabilitation works.

“FITCH” AFFIRMED RATING OF GEORGIAN OIL AND GAS CORPORATION AND WITHDREW IT
Fitch Ratings affirmed the long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating (IDR) of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) at “BB” level, with “negative” outlook. The “negative” outlook “mirrors that of Georgia (BB/Negative)”, Fitch said, referring to own Government-Related Entities (GRE) Rating Criteria.
ECONOMY MINISTRY: ISRAELI “ENER-T” CONSIDERS CONSTRUCTION OF SOLAR POWER PLANT IN GEORGIA
Israeli company Ener-t International considers possibility of entry to Georgian market and construction of solar power plant in the country, reported Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. The subject was discussed at the meeting, held today in Tbilisi between the Israeli company’s representatives and Georgia’s Economy Minister Natia Turnava.
