On November 28, Irakli Lekvinadze was appointed as chairman of Georgian Competition Agency. In 2018-2019, he held post of business ombudsman of the country (resigned in November).

GDP GROWTH IN OCTOBER MADE UP 5.7%

Sakstat released estimation, according to which Georgia’s real GDP growth in October made up 5.7%. In 10 months of this year, average rate of real growth made up 5.1%.

SO-CALLED MIKHAYLOV HOSPITAL IS BROUGHT ON AUCTION AGAIN, HAVING THE OLD STARTING PRICE

Real estate, located on Agmashenebeli Ave. 60 and 60a in Tbilisi (so-called Mikhaylov Hospital, former clinical hospital of Tbilisi State University), is brought on electronic auction. The matter concerns non-agricultural land plot with total area of 10,000 square m and several buildings.




TENDER ANNOUNCED ON THE LICENSE BLOCK XIH

On November 27, Georgian Oil and Gas Agency announced open international tender on general license for use of oil and gas resources on the license block XIH. Total area of the block, which includes territory of Tbilisi suburb, near Kojori, makes up 194.5 square km.




DIRECT CHARTER FLIGHTS BETWEEN BANGKOK AND TBILISI ARE APPOINTED

Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported that Thai air carrier Thai AirAsia X will conduct several direct charter flights to Georgia.

In particular, the airline will make 6 flights between Bangkok and Tbilisi.

“TI GEORGIA”: VIOLATIONS REVEALED IN CONNECTION WITH BUSINESS ACTIVITY OF TBILISI SAKREBULO MEMBERS

TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, declared that after study of business activity of all 50 members of Tbilisi Sakrebulo (city council), a number of violations were revealed.

It turned out that 10 members of the Sakrebulo have incompletely declared own or family members’ entrepreneurial activity, the organization pointed.
