    GEORGIAN PREMIER: IVANISHVILI, AS HONORARY CHAIRMAN OF THE PARTY, IS INVOLVED IN POLITICAL PROCESSES

    Bidzina Ivanishvili, as the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream, as the main political adviser to the ruling party, “is involved in political processes”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared to journalists today. I have “a regular communication” with Ivanishvili, “in essence, this is a phone communication”, he said.


    GEORGIAN PREMIER: FRENCH LAW IS STRICTER THAN THE ONE INITIATED IN GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT, WHICH THE OPPOSITION CALLED RUSSIAN

    IDFI: REAL ACCESSIBILITY OF JUDICIAL ACTS REMAINS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM IN GEORGIA

    Real accessibility of judicial acts remains a systemic problem in Georgia, declared the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI).

    IDFI indicated that according to legislative amendments, adopted in 2023, judicial decisions and acts in Georgia should be published proactively from 2024, however, as of February 29 of this year, the courts of general jurisdiction do not ensure compliance with this.

    IN FEBRUARY, GEORGIA’S REAL GDP ANNUAL GROWTH MADE UP 9.5%

    In February, compared to the corresponding period of last year, Georgia’s real GDP growth made up 9.5%, Sakstat reported (estimation). In January, annual growth made up 5.8%.


    GEORGIAN STATE AUDIT SERVICE INDICATES DEFICIENCIES IN PUBLIC REGISTER AGENCY’S ACCOUNTING

    In 2022, Georgian National Agency of Public Register’s revenues, received from provision of services, amounted to 86.74 million lari (VAT exclusive), the report of Georgian State Audit Service indicates.

    However, the Agency lacks an appropriate system that would integrate information about user pre-payments and actually provided services, the Service notes.


    GEORGIA OIL AND GAS CORPORATION: 15 KM OF LEKHURA-SVENETI SECTION OF EAST-WEST GAS PIPELINE ARE BUILT

    The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation builds the 20.5-km Lekhura-Sveneti section of the East-West gas pipeline in Shida Kartli region, near the administrative separation line with Russia-occupied Tskhinvali region.

    At this stage, works on 15 km of the gas pipeline have been already completed, the Corporation reported.


    GEORGIAN ROADS DEPARTMENT: PERIODIC REPAIR OF PONICHALA-MARNEULI-GUGUTI ROAD SECTION COMPLETED

    Periodic repair works have been completed on the section of the Ponichala-Marneuli-Guguti international motor road, passing through Bolnisi (Kvemo Kartli region), Georgian Roads Department reported.

    Within the project, asphalt concrete pavement was laid on the section having length of 5 km.

    NEW CHAIRS AND TENSABARRIERS INSTALLED AT KUTAISI AIRPORT

    At Kutaisi airport, 36 units of 4-seater Czech-made benches were installed, declared the state-owned LLC Georgian Airports Association (which runs the airport).

    Also, 300 units of Polish-made tensabarriers were installed to better control passenger queues.
