THE CAUCASIAN REGIONAL CENTER OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ESTABLISHED

The representatives of European Commission, the ministers of Environment Protection of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed the agreement on September 28 on the establishment of this center. The implementation of number of projects has been planned, for funding of which the EU has already allocated 300,000 ECU.

THE NATIONAL POLICY OF GEORGIA ON THE HEALTH SERVICE INTRODUCED TO THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

The conception on the national policy in this field, introduced by the Minister of Health of Georgia Avtandil Jorbenadze, has been considered by the participants of the conference of the World Health Organization held on September 26-29. As it has been noted at the Ministry of Health, for the first time, the working language on this kind of meeting was Georgian.

The presentation of the large enterprises (Elektromecanikosi, Medea and Litoponi) and the conference were held in Imereti in the framework of the project on assisting the privatization of the enterprises, funded by USAID. Asthe counselor of the project Lie Bebcock declared, the main goal is to provide the potential investors with the complete and accurate information on the enterprises, going to be privatized.

AES WILL SETTLE AN ACCOUNT WITH TBILGRES CREDITORS

As it was informed at the State Property Management Ministry, as a result of the negotiations the US Company AES, despite the previous refusal, has agreed to cover TbilGRES indebtedness of $190 million. AES will hold negotiations with the basic creditors – WB, IFC, and KfW.




THE TENDER ON THE PRIVATIZATION OF THE LTD SAKARTVELOS AVIAKHAZABI HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

The State Property Management Ministry made this decision by the request of the Transport Ministry and the Air Transport Department. The final decision on this issue is to be made on the session of the government.
