    THE PREMIER: COMPROMISES SHOULD BE MAXIMALLY EXCLUDED IN PLANNING, APPROVAL AND COMMISSIONING OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

    “Compromises should be maximally excluded in process of planning, approval and putting construction projects in operation”, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared.

    As Kvirikashvili stated at the government meeting today, “Any investment is important, however human life is more important and I urge all appropriate authorities to toughen as much as possible control in this direction”.


    NEXT OMBUDSMAN BECAME NINO LOMJARIA

    Next Ombudsman of Georgia became Nino Lomjaria. Today, the Parliament approved her candidacy, nominated by the majority, with 96 votes pro and 5 – contra.

    “SAKSTAT”: GDP GROWTH RATE IN OCTOBER MADE UP 5.7%

    Sakstat published estimation for October, according to which real GDP growth in comparison with the same period of 2016, made up 5.7%. For the first 10 months of this year, average real GDP growth rate made up 4.9%.


    THE PREMIER: ALL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS FORECAST THAT WE WILL HAVE EVEN HIGHER ECONOMIC GROWTH NEXT YEAR

    While commenting on Georgia’s economic growth for the first 10 months of this year, estimated at 4.9%, including 5.7% in October, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared: “This is the best result in scales of the region”.

    The Premier pointed that “According to forecast of all financial institutions, we are expected next year by even higher economic growth, as we considerably exceed their expectations this year”.


    THE PREMIER: ABOUT 10 IMPORTANT AGREEMENTS WERE SIGNED DURING TBILISI BELT AND ROAD FORUM

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili estimated Tbilisi Belt and Road forum as “very successful”.

    The Premier declared this at the government meeting today and noted: “We already have about 10 important agreements, signed during the forum.


    PARTNERSHIP FUND: INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL BANK OF CHINA PLANS INVESTMENT IN GEORGIA

    Georgian Partnership Fund declared that Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) plans investment in Georgia. Namely, ICBC plans signing of memorandum with the Fund and investment in joint projects, the Fund specified.

    “GEORGIAN RAILWAY” AGREED ON COOPERATION WITH CHINESE COMPANIES

    JSC Georgian Railway declared that its subsidiary, GR Logistics & Terminals, has signed memorandums of cooperation with China Railway International Multimodal Transport Company (CRIMT), affiliated structure of China Railway, and with Lianyungang New Silk Road International Container Development.

    Lianyungang is port, from where containers are transported via Georgia, Georgian Railway said, not providing details of signed memorandums.


    DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF “NENSKRA HYDRO”: IN 2018, FINANCIAL WORKS WITHIN “NENSKRAHES” PROJECT WILL COME TO THE END

    Taekwon Seo, deputy director of JSC Nenskra Hydro, declared that financial works within NenskraHES project will be completed in 2018. The hydroelectric station will start partial generation in 2021, while full put in operation is planned for 2023, he said.


    TWO COMPANIES ARE ENGAGED IN PURCHASE OF SUB-STANDARD TANGERINES IN AJARA

    Ajara government declared that purchase of sub-standard tangerines is started in the region.

    In particular, LLC Georgian Industrial Asset Management Group will purchase sub-standard tangerines in unlimited quantity, the government said.

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF “HUB GEORGIA”: THERE IS UTTER CHAOS IN GEORGIAN TRANSPORT INDUSTRY

    Vaso Urushadze, executive director of HUB Georgia (the platform, working on transport issues), stated that “there is utter chaos in transport industry of Georgia”. He pounced upon the sphere, declaring that there are “irresponsibility, incoordination, monopoly, artificial barriers, corruption, amateurism, while neglect of official duty became a commonplace”.
