SUMMARY Historical Background: The US has been a key economic partner for Georgia since regaining its independence in the early 1990s, providing significant support in the form of foreign assistance, foreign direct investment (FDI), and remittances. Bilateral Trade: Between 2015 and 2023, the US consistently ranked among Georgia’s top ten trading partners, and in 2023, it became one of Georgia’s top three trading partners for the first time.
