    NETGAZETI.GE: “ACCORDING TO LEVAN KIPIANI, RECORDS WERE STAGED BY HIM AND ZAZA OKUASHVILI”

    October 4, 2018 - Former minister of sport Levan Kipiani declared that hidden audio recordings, which are aired by Rustavi-2 TV company, were staged by him and Zaza Okuashvili, founder of Omega Group.

    Kipiani claims that “we had to record jointly the compromising material, which had to be presented then” to foreign partners of Okuashvili.


    TABULA: “ZURABISHVILI RENTS THE CAMPAIGN OFFICE FROM THE COMPANY, WHICH CO-OWNER IS SON OF PARTSKHALADZE”

    October 4, 2018 - Salome Zurabishvili, presidential candidate, backed by ruling Georgian Dream, rents area for her Tbilisi campaign office (300 square m, Republic Square) for 16,911 lari monthly from LLC Restaurant Tsinandali, Tabula reports.

    The article specifies that owner of 49% in this company is EcoGroup, which 50% belong in its turn to Andria Partskhaladze, son of former main prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze.


    FORBES GEORGIA: “SUM, WHICH POLITICAL PARTIES SPEND FOR ADVERTISING”

    October 4, 2018 - Referring to State Audit Service, the magazine reports that advertising expenses of political parties from August 1 through September 11 have totaled to 727,178 lari, while expenses on TV commercial – 417,210 lari.

    The article indicates that the largest sum was spent by European Georgia – 382,432 lari.


    FORBES GEORGIA: “POLITICIANS AND PARTIES WITH THE MOST “LARGE SPONSORS””

    October 4, 2018 - Referring to State Audit Service, the magazine reports that during a month (September 1-30), Georgia’s political parties and independent presidential candidates raised donations totaling to 930,012 lari.

    The largest sum has collected National Movement (442,691 lari), ruling party’s candidate Salome Zurabishvili (332,245 lari) and European Georgia (91,196 lari).

    October 3, 2018 - Chairman of supervisory council of TBC Bank Mamuka Khazaradze, the bank’s operating day already for 10 years lasts until 20:00 and “all should cease to lie and to to slander”.

    Thus Khazaradze commented on the statement of Zaza Okuashvili, founder of Omega Group, who said that 4 million lari, transferred by him, were withdrawn from the bank, because of authorities’ pressure, out of the working hours, at about 19:30.


    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “THE LONDON EXPERT BUREAU CONCLUDED THAT SPREAD RECORDS ABOUT VANO CHKHARTISHVILI ARE MONTAGE”

    October 3, 2018 - Zaza Khatiashvili, lawyer of businessman Vano Chkhartishvili, declared that one of the London expert bureaus (not named) presented a conclusion, which says that records, being aired by TV companies Iberia and Rustavi-2, which feature Chkhartishvili, are montage, the newspaper reports.

    According to Khatiashvili, one of the records contains “6 cuts, joining together 7 different conversations”.

    October 1, 2018 - In interview of Rustavi-2 TV company, founder of Omega Group Zaza Okuashvili, recalls the first meeting with former chief prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze.

    According to Okuashvili, businessman Vano Chkhartishvili “asked me to meet some good guy who worked in Prosecutor’s Office” (the matter concerns Partskhaladze).


    KVIRIS PALITRA: “SECRET CIGARETTE SCHEME OF VANO CHKHARTISHVILI – WAY, BY WHICH TOBACCO BUSINESS POSES FILTER CIGARETTES AS NON-FILTER”

    October 1, 2018 - Subjects of conversation of businessmen and former high-ranks in hidden audio recordings are based on real facts, seem like return to the Shevardnadze-time past, when business hide taxes, while the government was corrupted, the newspaper says.

    According to one of these records, founder of Tbilisi Tobacco Irakli Chubinishvili knew from the Finance Ministry that then Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili had prepared the conclusion about fining of the company of Chubinishvili and businessman Vano Chkhartishvili by 26 million (presumably, lari).

    October 1, 2018 - Zaza Okuashvili, founder of Omega Group, claims that Bidzina Ivanishvili, billionaire leader of ruling Georgian Dream, demanded from him large sum in exchange for support of his business.

    “I transferred 4 million [currency is not specified] on account, which was [one of] the firm, opened a day before in offshore”, Okuashvili said in interview to Rustavi-2 TV company.

    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “WHAT IMPACT TURKISH CRISIS WILL HAVE ON GEORGIA – ANSWER OF KOBA GVENETADZE”

    October 5, 2018 - “If situation in Turkey does not worsen, we do not expect considerable influence on economy of Georgia”, president of National Bank of Georgia Koba Gvenetadze declared.

    Gvenetadze said the mentioned in interview to Global Finance, part of Italian Class Editori Group, the newspaper reports.


    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “WE DO NOT SEE PROBLEM IN 2% RATE OF ECONOMIC GROWTH IN AUGUST”

    October 5, 2018 - Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia declares that “August is a slow month and we do not see a problem that rate of economic growth in August made up 2%”.

    The Minister assures that economic growth rate, planned by Georgian government for 2018 at 5%, will be surely reached, the newspaper reports.


    REZONANSI: “THE GOVERNMENT PLANNED A BIGGER DEVALUATION OF LARI”

    October 3, 2018 - According to the draft budget-2019, the exchange rate next year will make up 2.63 GEL/USD, the newspaper reports. The article notes that the budget-2018 was planned with the rate estimation of 2.59 GEL/USD.


    REZONANSI: “ECONOMIC GROWTH, TO WHICH THE GOVERNMENT SACRIFICED EVERYTHING, IS UNDER THREAT”

    October 2, 2018 - The state budget for 2018 was planned in assumption of economic growth of 4.5%, and for 2019, economic growth of 4.5% is forecasted again, the newspaper writes.

    According to the Finance Ministry, after reworking of initial draft of the budget, indicator of GDP growth could be reconsidered.


    FORBES GEORGIA: “ISET EXPECTS THIS YEAR IN GEORGIA ECONOMIC GROWTH OF 6.3%”

    October 2, 2018 - International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET) expects in the 3rd quarter economic growth of 7.2% in Georgia. Forecast for the 4th quarter makes up 6.5%.


    NETGAZETI.GE: “11M LARI FOR ARRANGEMENT OF HEAD OFFICES OF PUBLIC REGISTER AND “SMART LOGIC””

    October 1, 2018 - For face-lift and interior finishing of office buildings of National Agency of Public Register and Smart Logic (legal entity of public law under the Justice Ministry), allocation of 11.63 million lari is envisaged, Netgazeti.Ge reports.

    The article notes that the Agency has already announced the tender, applications for which should be submitted from October 14 to October 19.
