    NETGAZETI.GE: “JAPARIDZE: PENSION REFORM – CONSPIRACY OF BANKS AND THE GOVERNMENT AGAINST CITIZENS”

    November 9, 2017 - Leader of political movement Girchi Zurab Japaridze estimates the planned pension reform as conspiracy of banks and the government against citizens of the country.

    The reform represents “preliminarily thought financial scheme, which aims providing the authority and large financial institutions with billions of lari, removed from citizens’ pockets, in conditions of zero responsibility”, Japaridze declares.


    FORBES GEORGIA: “IMF OFFERS ONE MORE REGULATION TO THE GOVERNMENT”

    November 9, 2017 - Francois Painchaud, IMF resident representative in Georgia, declares: “We agree with law on private-public partnership. It offers quite good calculations concerning future fiscal risks of such projects”.


    TABULA: “HOW MANY PENALTIES ARE IMPOSED FOR FARE DODGING”

    November 8, 2017 - Georgian Parliament considers draft bill, which quadruples penalty for ticketless travel, increasing it up to 20 lari.

    According to the City Hall of Tbilisi, average number of penalties, imposed daily in the capital, makes up 150.


    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “IN REGARD OF LAND, ONLY RENT IS CONSIDERED, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS”

    November 7, 2017 - Chairman of the Parliament’s Agrarian Committee Otar Danelia says that the bill is already drafted in relation with agricultural land, which does not envisage exceptions. The amendments will be initiated at spring session of the Parliament, he notes.

    November 6, 2017 - While commenting on recent devaluation of lari, expert Gia Khukhashvili points that “core economic backbone of long-term stability on the currency market is the balance of import and export”.

    “Balancing of negative balance, which we have on the currency market, happens seasonally”, Khukhashvili specifies.

    “Unfortunately, part of doctors is bad educated about modern medicines and approaches”, Surguladze declares.

    November 8, 2017 - There is already several months of price growth on almost all oil-products at international exchanges, the newspaper says.

    Founder of company Senta Zaal Yakobidze declares that within the next 1 week, fuel price on the local market will raise by about 10 tetri.


    EUGEORGIA.INFO: “CONTRACTS ON GUARANTEED PURCHASES OF ELECTRICITY AS SOURCE OF FISCAL RISK”

    November 7, 2017 - IMF names contracts on guaranteed purchases of electricity among fiscal risks of Georgia. The Fund recommends to Georgian government to refrain from initiation of such contracts until corresponding legislative base is not brought in order.

    November 10, 2017 - Newly elected Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze declared that in its complaints against CT Park (parking operator of Tbilisi), the City Hall will apply to legal way.

    In live show of TV company Imedi, Kaladze said: “Let’s look at statistics, penalties, which are imposed by this company and which were protested, there is 99% of justificatory sentences, ruled in favor of citizens”.

    November 10, 2017 - Sharp growth of fuel rise in Georgia put in question the acting tariffs for travel by municipal transport, the newspaper states.

    However, Tbilisi Minibus declared to the newspaper that “no changes are planned in respect of the fare.


    FORBES GEORGIA: “RATING OF GEORGIAN MOBILE OPERATORS”

    November 8, 2017 - In 9 months of this year, Georgian mobile operators gained income, totaling to 333.7 million lari (VAT and excise exclusive). If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 23.5 million lari, the magazine reports.


    FORBES GEORGIA: “VOLUME OF FREIGHTS TRANSPORTED IN GEORGIAN CORRIDOR DECREASES”

    November 8, 2017 - Volume of freight, processed by Georgian seaports and terminals in 9 months of this year, totals to 12.1 million t, being by 900,000 t less than in the same period of 2016, the magazine reports.

    Biggest volume was processed in Poti port – 5 million t, where year-on-year growth made up 300,000 t.

    REZONANSI: “EUROPE OPENS WAY TO EVEN CLOSER RAPPROCHEMENT WITH GEORGIA”

    November 9, 2017 - By recommendation of European Parliament, trust fund has to be created for Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, by means of which the EU will be able to respond to crisis and post-crisis situations quickly and flexibly, the newspaper writes.

    In this fund, resources of public and private donors will be attracted in order to invest then in projects on improvement of socio-economic situation in the mentioned countries.

    LIBERALI: “WHAT IS ECOLOGICAL CONDITION OF THE BLACK SEA”

    November 7, 2017 - Environment Protection Agency points that because of lack of financing, research vessels, modern equipment and methodology, systematic and complex monitoring was not conducted in northern part of the Black Sea for a long time.

    Head of Agency Tamar Bagratia says that after a long break, complex researches were conducted in northern part of the Black Sea for the first time (2016-2017).

    REZONANSI: “POPULATION IS ON “THE CREDIT NEEDLE”!”

    November 9, 2017 - By January 1, 2007, private individuals had short-term credits of 90 million lari and long-term ones of 63 million lari, whereas by September 1, 2017, these volumes made up 549 million lari and 2.17 billion lari, respectively.

    It turns out that retail short-term credits have increased during the mentioned period 6 times, while long-term ones – 34 times, the newspaper points.

    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “GEORGIAN BUSINESS OF GEORGIA’S FORMER KOMSOMOL LEADER AND BILLIONAIRE”

    November 10, 2017 - King David Residence, located in Tbilisi expensive housing and commercial estate, is considered a complex of the former 1st secretary of Georgia’s Central Committee of Komsomol (Youth Communist Union) Ioseb Orjonikidze, the newspaper says.

    For a long time, Orjonikidze was Vice-Mayor of Moscow (during period of the Mayor Yury Luzhkov) and supervised such spheres as hotels and gambling, external economic and investment activity, the article specifies.
