    FORBES GEORGIA: “THE WORLD BANK RAISED THE FORECAST OF ECONOMIC GROWTH FOR GEORGIA”

    January 10, 2019 - According to new forecast of the World Bank (WB), Georgia’s economy will grow in the current year by 5% that by 0.8 percentage points exceeds the previous forecast, the magazine reports. Forecasts for 2020 and 2021 also make up 5%.

    January 9, 2019 - In 2018, payments of Georgian state budget amounted to 12.6 billion lari that by 100 million exceeds the planned volume, the magazine reports.

    The article specifies that remuneration spending exceeded the plan by 2 million lari.

    January 11, 2019 - Electric power, generated by Kartli wind power plant in 2018, made up 84.2 million kWh, the magazine reports. The volume by 102,860 kWh (by 0.01%) exceeds an expected indicator.


    BANKEBI DA FINANSEBI: “RISE IN PRICE OF GAS WILL NOT AFFECT BREAD PRICE”

    January 8, 2019 - Since February 4, gas price for non-household consumers of KazTransGas-Tbilisi will make up 86 tetri per cubic m, the newspaper reports.

    KazTransGas-Tbilisi explained the decision by change of national currency rate.

    January 9, 2019 - Along with spread of swine flu virus in Georgia, more and more people speak about deficiency of anti-flu medicine Tamiflu in drugstores, especially, in regions, the newspaper says.

    One capsule of the medicine costs 5-10 lari, whereas the patient has to take during 2 weeks at least 2 capsules a day, the article specifies.

    TABULA: “UP TO 80M WAS USED FOR GROWTH OF LIQUIDITY OF “TBC”, THE BANK HAD TO BE RESCUED AFTER THE WAR”

    January 10, 2019 - Zviad Kordzadze, lawyer of TBC Bank’s founder Mamuka Khazaradze notes that the Prosecutor’s Office seized in the bank the documents, connected with 11-year-old transactions, which were studied multiple times by National Bank of Georgia.

    Kordzadze indicates that it was showed in such manner, as if funds were taken from the bank and disappeared somewhere, while in fact, the funds, which were mobilized then, were used for growth of liquidity of TBC Bank, as the bank had to be rescued after the war (between Russia and Georgia, 2008).


    NETGAZETI.GE: “SHARES OF “TBC” AT LONDON EXCHANGE DECLINED BY 5.38% IN A DAY”

    January 10, 2019 - Price per share of TBC Bank Group on London Stock Exchange declined by 5.38% in a day, Netgazeti.Ge reports. As a result, the price makes up now 14.08 GBP instead of 15 GBP.


    FORBES GEORGIA: ““TBC” PLANS TO ENTER UZBEKISTAN’S MARKET”

    January 9, 2019 - Georgian banking group TBC plans to enter the market of Uzbekistan, the magazine reports.

    According to the article, initial plan envisages to enter the market by means of digital bank Space, which TBC Bank presented last summer.
