“TI GEORGIA” INDICATES PROBLEMS IN ACTIVITY OF THE PARLIAMENT

Referring to study of activity of Georgian Parliament for 2018, TI Georgia (Georgian branch of Transparency International) declares that besides particular challenges, existing in specific directions of the Parliament’s activity, problem of relations of the Parliament and civil sector of the country should be outlined. Besides, the ruling party and opposition use mechanisms of parliamentary control rather for party interests than for implementation of real control, TI Georgia points.

PUBLIC REGISTER: 700,000 APPLICATIONS ARE REGISTERED WITHIN REFORM OF LAND REGISTRATION

Within 3 years after start of reform of land registration, 700,000 applications were registered through simplified procedures, Georgian Justice Ministry’s National Agency of Public Register reported. The Agency specified that as of now, about 28,000 applications are sent from the Public Register to relevant commissions on property right recognition.

PRIME MINISTER ON ANAKLIA PORT: THE STATE WILL FULFILL OBLIGATION ON CONSTRUCTION OF DEEP-WATER PORT

The state will execute that obligation, which is vital for development of transit capacity of the country, i.e. the deep-water port has to be built, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared to journalists. We declared our full support to Anaklia Development Consortium (which build the deep-water port in Anaklia on the Black Sea coast), the Premier pointed.

TBC Bank Group declared about approval of mirror structure of the boards of directors (Mirror Board). As a result, all non-executive members of TBC Bank Group’s board of directors will be also members of supervisory council of TBC Bank.

“DOPPELMAYR” TO BUILD 3 NEW ROPEWAYS IN BAKURIANI

Georgian government reported that today, agreement on construction of 3 new ropeways was signed in Bakuriani mountain resort with Austrian-Swiss Doppelmayr Garaventa Group. As the government said, the project will be implemented on Didveli territory in Bakuriani, and total length of the ropeways will make up 5 km that means the ski slope of approximately 20 km.

SCENE OF HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER TO BE FILMED IN GEORGIA

Within “Make a Film in Georgia” state program, Universal Pictures will take scene of “Fast and Furious 9” blockbuster in Georgia, Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia declared. The Agency specified that filming process will start on August 19 and will last through September 20.
