National Bank of Georgia reported that domestic transactions by plastic cards, issued by resident issuers, totaled in the 2nd quarter to 6.38 billion lari. If compared with the 1st quarter of this year, the volume has increased by 14.6%.

National Bank of Georgia reported that foreign transactions by plastic cards, issued by resident issuers, totaled in the 2nd quarter to equivalent of 549.71 million lari. If compared with the 1st quarter of this year, the volume has increased by 15.4%.

The new reality, which arose after decision of the European Court of Human Rights on case of Rustavi-2 TV company, “is a big challenge for fragile Georgian democracy and creates serious danger to pluralistic media environment”, Georgian civil organizations say in the statement, released today. “There are no doubts that change of owner of Rustavi-2 was within interest of the authorities, being openly declared by then more than once”, the organizations indicate.

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported about the meeting, held in Tbilisi between representatives of Civil Aviation Agency, Sakaeronavigatsia (Georgian Air Navigation) and delegation of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). As the Ministry said, representatives of IATA offered assistance to Georgian side in development of National Airspace Strategy.

NEW HOTEL IS BUILT IN SAGAREJO MUNICIPALITY

Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia reported that new hotel, Chateau Khashmi, will be opened on July 20 in the village of Khashmi (Sagarejo municipality of Kakheti region). According to the Agency, investments in the 11-room hotel amounted to 1.65 million lari.
