STRATEGY OF NATIONAL STATISTICS SYSTEM’S DEVELOPMENT IN 2020-2023 IS PREPARED

Sakstat presented today first Georgian strategy of national statistics system’s development, which covers period of 2020-2023. As Georgian statistics service said, the strategy was developed with assistance of the UN Development Program (UNDP) and Sweden government.

PRIME MINISTER’S PRESS SPEAKER: OLD REGIME OF MARKING WILL OPERATE FOR SOFT DRINKS

In respect of issue of soft drinks’ marking, “the agreement is reached that Georgian government will continue to operate in the same regime, which acted until now”, press speaker of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Chikovani reported today. According to Chikovani, the decision is made in response to the appeal of soft drinks producers.

ECONOMY MINISTER: SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESSMEN WILL GOT LICENSES FOR USE OF TECHNICAL WATER

Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava declared that “in the next few days, up to 120 small and medium businessmen will receive licenses for use of technical water”. She declared it today, after the government meeting, at which national strategy of development of subsoil sector was approved.

ECONOMY MINISTER: 6 OBJECTS ARE SOLD WITHIN PROJECT “100 INVESTMENT OFFERS FOR BUSINESS” AND OVER 8M LARI GAINED

Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava declared that within the project “100 Investment Offers for Business”, 6 objects with total staring cost of 6.4 million lari are already sold. As a result of auctions, these objects were sold for 8.09 million lari, she reported today.

ECONOMY MINISTER: IN LAST MONTHS, 11 SMALL AND MEDIUM HYDROELECTRIC STATIONS WERE LAUNCHED

Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava reported that in last months, 11 new small and medium hydroelectric stations were launched in the country. “This is investment of over $200 million” and “additional installed capacity of about 100 MW”, she noted.

“In Kvemo Kartli, we already finished rehabilitation of 28 km of roads, capital repair of 75 km is underway, while we plan for the next year restoration of 25 km”, Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili reported. According to the Minister, “total cost of these projects exceeds 100 million lari”.

“FITCH” UPGRADED RATING OF “HALYK BANK GEORGIA”, WHILE AFFIRMED OF “BASISBANK”

Fitch Ratings declared that it increased rating of Halyk Bank Georgia from “BB-” to “BB”. The outlook remains “positive”.
