FISCAL COMMITTEE: RATE OF GEORGIA’S ECONOMIC GROWTH IN 2019 COULD BE PLANNED AT THE LEVEL OF 4.8%

Fiscal Committee of Georgian Parliament considers that rate of Georgia’s economic growth in 2019 could be planned at the level of 4.8%. The Committee forecasts that in case of such planning, there will be possibility of additional financing of priority directions, envisaged by the budget.

THE GOVERNMENT: IN THE UPDATED VERSION OF STATE BUDGET-2019, RECEIPTS ARE INCREASED BY 357M LARI

In the updated version of Georgia’s state budget-2019, receipts are increased in comparison with the initial version, by 357 million lari, the government reported. Initially planned volume of receipts made up 11.61 billion lari.

GEORGIA AND SINGAPORE TO SIGN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT ON MARINE MERCHANT COMMUNICATION

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that bilateral intergovernmental agreement on marine merchant communication will be signed with Singapore. Inner procedures in connection with the draft agreement have been finished and the document was sent through diplomatic channels to Singapore side, the Ministry said.

GEORGIAN PREMIER MET NEW EBRD MANAGING DIRECTOR IN EASTERN EUROPE AND CAUCASUS

Today, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met EBRD managing director in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone, press service of Georgian Premier reported. At the meeting, consideration touched upon those projects, which are implemented in Georgia with EBRD support, the press service said, specifying that the parties discussed also issues of construction of deep-water port in Anaklia and establishment in Georgia of arbitration of International Chamber of Commerce.

COMMUNICATION COMMISSION: IN Q3, ADVERTISING INCOME OF “RUSTAVI-2” GREW, OF “IMEDI” – REDUCED

Georgian National Communication Commission reported that advertising income of Georgian broadcasters has increased in the 3rd quarter by 12.7% (by 1.86 million lari) year-on-year. At that, advertising income of Rustavi-2 has increased by 9%, up to 4.87 million lari, while of Imedi – decreased by 6%, to 4.19 million lari, the Commission pointed.

GEORGIA HOSTS “DATAFEST TBILISI”

Annual festival “DataFest Tbilisi” is held in Tbilisi, being assisted by Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) within “BOG Fintech” direction (digital banking technologies). As the bank said, participation in 3-day event is taken by up to 500 representatives of various countries.

IN GEORGIA, REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER OF VIRTUAL REALITY TO BE ESTABLISHED

In Georgia, regional training center of virtual reality will be established, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The center will be created within the large-scale governmental program of retraining and will serve not only Georgia, but neighboring countries too, the Ministry declared.
