   The number of MPs was reduced by 40%, while the budget of the legislative body has grown by 25%. Namely, 36.9 million lari is envisaged for 150 MPs, which is by 7.4 million lari more than the amount allocated in 2008 for the previous convocation of the Parliament (235 MPs).

   Georgian Stock Exchange reports that OTC was fixed on 317.34 million shares of Sakhalkho Banki (People’s Bank). The stack, equal to 20.19% of issued shares, was sold for 2.5 million lari.

8. SHARE OF EUROOIL IN SAKHALKHO BANKI REACHED 89%

   As Sakhalkho Banki (People’s Bank) told Sarke, share of EuroOil in this Georgian bank makes up 89%.

   To remind, 69% (1.08 billion shares) of bank’s shares was acquired by EuroOil, established by Arab RAK Investment, in January this year.

    Mobile communications operator Magti announces that clients can use mobile internet, based on 3.5G technology HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access), countrywide.

    Zurab Gurgenidze, deputy director general of Magti in communications field, stressed at today’s press conference that this service is first of such kind on the local market.

17. MAGTI TO INCREASE NUMBER OF AGENCIES, LINKED TO SINGLE GOVERNMENTAL NETWORK

    Mobile communications operator Magti is going to increase by the end of 2008 number of objects, which are linked to the single governmental network, Zurab Gurgenidze, Magti’s deputy director general on communications, told Sarke.

    According to Gurgenidze, the company completed first stage of the project on November 3, 2008 and linked more than 400 offices of 16 governmental institutions to the single governmental network.

20. BASISBANK FINISHED Q3 WITH 1.5M LARI PROFIT

    JSC Basisbank informs that by the state of September 30, 2008, its profit made up 1.5 million lari, or by 42.3% less compared with the same period of 2007.

    Total assets of the bank made up 108.7 million lari, which is more by 5.6% compared with the beginning of the year and is more by 8.4% compared with last year’s same period.
