European Court of Human Rights published today decision of Grand Chamber, according to which originally reasonable pre-trial detention of the former prime minister of Georgia Vano Merabishvili was unfairly used as means of pressure upon him later. The Chamber ruled (9 votes pro and 8 – contra) that Georgian government has to pay 4,000 EUR in compensation of non-material damage to Merabishvili.

Georgia government reported that within Georgian-Russian informal dialogue, next meeting between Georgian Prime Minister’s special representative in relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin was held on November 16 in Prague. One of the subjects of consideration was problematics of agreement of 2011 between the governments of Georgia and Russia on basic principles of mechanisms of customs administration and monitoring of commodity trade, the government said.
