    IN 2022, GEORGIA’S STATE BUDGET CONTRIBUTIONS FROM COMMUNICATIONS SPHERE INCREASED BY 18%

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, contributions to the state budget of Georgia from the sphere of communications amounted to 434.3 million lari. If compared with 2021, the volume has increased by 18%.


    GEORGIAN COMMUNICATION COMMISSION: IN THE LAST 5 YEARS, INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SECTOR HAD THE HIGHEST AVERAGE GROWTH RATE

    In the last 5 years, information and communications had the highest average growth rate among sectors of Georgian economy, Georgia National Communication Commission indicated in its report for 2022.

    In particular, the 5-year average growth rate (as of the reporting year) of this sector made up 29%.

    IN 2022, RETAIL REVENUES OF GEORGIAN MOBILE OPERATORS INCREASED BY 26%

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, the mobile operators in the amount gained retail income for 702 million lari (growth in comparison with 2021 – 26%).

    In total volume, share of MagtiCom made up 50% (against of 47% in 2021), SilkNet (Geocell) – 34% (against of 35%), VEON Georgia (Beeline, since 2023 – Cellfie) – 16% (against of 18).


    IN 2022, PENETRATION ON GEORGIAN MARKET OF MOBILE SERVICES INCREASED BY 10 PP

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, penetration on Georgian market of mobile services (ratio of number of subscribers to population of 5 years and above) made up 170% (i.e. 1 subscriber has more than 1 number). If compared with 2021, the penetration has increased by 10 percentage points (pp).


    IN 2022, PORTINGS IN GEORGIAN MOBILE NETWORKS INCREASED BY 40%

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, number of subscribers, who ported from one Georgian mobile network to another, totaled to 52,000. If compared with 2021, the number has decreased by 40%.


    IN 2022, TOTAL OUTBOUND VOICE TRAFFIC IN GEORGIA DECREASED BY 10%

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, total outbound mobile voice traffic in the country amounted to 9.7 billion min. If compared with 2021, the volume has decreased by 10%.


    IN 2022, GEORGIAN OPERATORS’ INCOME FROM ROAMING SERVICES INCREASED BY 47%

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, Georgian mobile operators’ income from roaming services totaled to 28 million lari. If compared with 2021, the volume has increased by 47%.


    IN GEORGIA, MOBILE DEVICES OF “SAMSUNG” ARE STILL MOST POPULAR, THOUGH THEIR MARKET SHARE SLIGHTLY DECREASED

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in 2022, devices of Samsung were still the most popular among mobile users in Georgia. In the reporting year, their share on Georgian market made up 38.4% (against of 39% in 2021).
