    “TI GEORGIA”: IN 2013-2020, REMUNERATION OF EMPLOYEES OF STATE AGENCIES’ PR SERVICES COST THE BUDGET 140.5M LARI

    TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, reported that during 2013-2020, i.e. during the rule of Georgian Dream, 140.5 million lari was spent from the budget for remuneration of employees of state agencies’ PR services. In this period, both number and remuneration of PR services’ employees increased significantly, the organization noted.


    5 LOCAL MARKET REGULATORS SIGNED AGREEMENT

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that in order to implement the competition policy effectively and strengthen cooperation, 5 local market regulators signed an agreement on December 3.

    Namely, besides NBG, the document was signed by National Competition Agency, National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission, National Communication Commission and State Service for Insurance Supervision.

    PARLIAMENT’S FISCAL COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER FINAL VERSION OF THE DRAFT STATE BUDGET-2022 THIS WEEK

    Irakli Kovzanadze, chairman of Georgian Parliament’s Fiscal Committee, declared that the Committee will consider the final version of the draft state budget-2022 on December 10. Compared to previous versions, expenditure part of the budget increases by 332 million lari, he noted.


    PREMIER: CAPITAL EXPENDITURES ARE NOT REDUCED IN DRAFT BUDGET-2022

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili declared that capital expenditures are not reduced in the draft budget-2022. We have planned 5.9 billion lari in this direction, which make up 9.1% of GDP, he said.


    NBG LAUNCHED INTERACTIVE WEB-BASED STRESS TEST PLATFORM

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared about launch of interactive web-based stress test platform for assessment of financial stability of the banks.

    This tool allows timely identification of potential risks and assessment of the banks’ ability to cope with major shocks, NBG pointed.


    WITHIN PROGRAM ON PILOT REGIONS’ INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT, 15 PROJECTS ARE FUNDED IN KAKHETI

    Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported that over 50 million lari have been allocated for implementation of projects in Kakheti region under the program on integrated development of pilot regions.

    Deputy Minister Mzia Giorgobiani said that 15 infrastructure projects worth over 10 million lari have been already funded in Kakheti.

    AT A MEETING WITH AMERICAN COMPANIES “SILK ROAD WINES” AND “EMERALD VINES MEDIA”, POTENTIAL OF GEORGIAN WINE EXPORT TO THE US WAS DISCUSSED

    Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported that the Minister Levan Davitashvili held a meeting in Tbilisi with representatives of American companies, importer of Georgian wine Silk Road Wines and integrated marketing agency Emerald Vines Media, on December 5.

    As the Ministry said, the parties discussed the potential of exporting Georgian wine to the US market and issues of its popularization.

    ECONOMY MINISTRY: 122 FAMILIES OF IDPS HAVE LEGALIZED COMMON AREAS THAT THEY ACTUALLY OWN

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that 122 families of internally displaced persons (321 people in total), living in Tbilisi and Kobuleti, got in ownership common areas, which they actually own. The corresponding order was approved at the government meeting today, the Ministry said.
