    GEORGIAN PREMIER: GEORGIA-GREECE RELATIONS ADVANCE TO STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP LEVEL

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared that Georgia-Greece relations are progressing to the level of strategic partnership.

    The Premier said the mentioned at the meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, held in Tbilisi today.


    THE PARLIAMENT: SECOND PHASE OF PROJECT SUPPORTING THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS BEGINS

    Today, the Parliament hosted presentation of project named “Strengthening of Dialogue Platform between Public and Private sectors in Georgian Parliament”. The project is supported by USAID and Business and Economic Center.

    NBG LEFT REFINANCING RATE UNCHANGED AGAIN

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that Monetary Policy Committee has decided today to maintain refinancing rate unchanged. Accordingly, the rate makes up 6.75% again.


    NBG: FACTORS IDENTIFIED, AFFECTING INFLATION FORECAST IN BOTH DIRECTIONS

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said that according to latest information, the factors have been identified, which affect inflation in both directions.

    “On the one hand, factual rate of inflation is higher, than was forecasted, which may create additional pressure on inflationary expectations”, NBG pointed.


    “SOCIETY AND BANKS”: RECENT STRENGTHENING OF EXCHANGE RATE WILL REDUCE PRESSURE ON INFLATION RATE

    Non-governmental organization Society and Banks points that recent strengthening of national currency will ease pressure on the current rate of inflation, which was mostly conditioned by raise of excise rates.

    Slight fluctuation of refinancing rate will not affect negatively availability of lari resources and will act as factor, supporting reduction of dollarization, the organization states.


    AGREEMENT ON RAILWAY-FERRY COMMUNICATION BETWEEN GEORGIA AND UKRAINE PORTS APPROVED

    The government approved agreement on international railway-ferry communication between Georgia and Ukraine seaports. The document was signed on September 13, 2016.


    COASTLINE PITCHING IS UNDERWAY IN KOBULETI

    Roads Department reported about coastline reinforcement works, being underway in Kobuleti (Ajara). As the Department said, the project worth 2.27 million lari is financed from the state budget.


    AJARA GOVERNMENT: FIRST RUGBY BASE BUILT IN BATUMI THROUGH CO-FINANCING OF FUND “CARTU”

    Government of Ajara reported that the first rugby-training base has been built at Leonidze Street in Batumi through co-financing of Cartu fund. The fund, established by billionaire ex-premier Bidzina Ivanishvili, will hand over the base to the City Hall on March 8.

    “ANAKLIA DEVELOPMENT CONSORTIUM”: GENERAL PLAN OF ANAKLIA PORT DEVELOPMENT IS READY

    Anaklia Development Consortium announced about completion of working on 50-year general plan of Anaklia port development. Now, the plan is considered by the governmental commission.


    PARTNERSHIP FUND: HUNGARIAN “GRANIT POLUS” GETS INTERESTED IN INVESTMENTS IN ONGOING PROJECTS OF THE FUND

    Georgian Partnership Fund declared that Hungarian realty developer Granit Polus gets interested in investment in ongoing projects of the Fund. Introductory meeting with representatives of the company was held at the Fund today.
