    THE US EMBASSY AND USAID SUPPORT THE SPEEDING-UP OF THE GEORGIAN ECONOMICAL REFORM

    The complex of extraordinary measures on speeding-up the economical reform in Georgia was distinguished during today’s extraordinary session held by the President. In it participated representatives of the Georgian and American sides, which spoke with joint initiative on realizing specific measures.


    THE WB IS EXPANDING THE PROJECT FINANCING IN GEORGIA

    This was declared today during the meeting of the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament with the WB’s regional director Judy O’Connor and the mission’s leader Joseph Owen. It’s planned to expand financing projects in the health care, education and environment protection spheres.


    IT HAS BEEN PROMISED TO INTRODUCE THE SCHEDULE OF COVERING THE INDEBTEDNESS ON SALARIES AND PENSIONS IN 10-DAY TERM

    About this declared the Finance Minister David Onoprishvili. He also informed that everybody would receive a month’s salary before the Easter holiday.


    3 APPLICANTS ON THE RIGHT OF REALIZING OBLIGATORY CUSTOMS SUPERVISION IN GEORGIA HAVE BEEN REVEALED

    About this informed the press service of the Georgian Finance Ministry by the results of yesterday’s session of the tender committee. The applicants are: Crown Agents and ITS (the United Kingdom), and SGS (Switzerland).

    LARGE BREAD FACTORIES MIGHT STOP IN NEAREST FUTURE

    This was declared at the press conference by the representatives of the Bread Producers’ Association. According to them, this is caused by significant losses of big undertakings, which are in worse conditions than small undertakings and cannot compete with them because of high taxes.


    MITSUBISHI CO. IS GOING TO BUILD A ONE-PIECE SYRINGE PRODUCING FACTORY IN TBILISI

    This was declared by the regional coordinator of this company in CIS countries. According to him, the project is totally financed by the Japanese company.


    IT’S PLANNED TO RENEW THE PRODUCTION OF CAPROLACTAM IN RUSTAVI

    Rustavi production association Azot is planning to sign the agreement on cooperation with the Russian oil company LUKoil. The agreement will allow to operate the caprolacam producing guild, which has not worked several years.
