PRIME MINISTER: THE ANTI-CRISIS BUDGET IS A RESULT OF SYSTEM APPROACH

Georgian government considered today draft of state budget-2020, reworked because of impact of COVID-19 pandemic, which was submitted to the Parliament this very day.

As Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared, this “anti-crisis budget is a result of system approach”.

DRAFT OF UPDATED BUDGET-2020: REVENUES TO LOSE 1.82B LARI, WHILE ALLOCATIONS TO INCREASE BY 1.49B LARI

Draft of updated state budget-2020, submitted today by Georgian government to the Parliament of the country, envisages that revenues of the consolidated budget will lack 1.82 billion lari.

Initial version of the budget had planned revenues of the consolidated budget of 13.7 billion lari, without debts and grants from donors.




UPDATED STATE BUDGET-2020: CREDITS FROM INTERNATIONAL DONORS TO MAKE UP 4.47B LARI

Draft of updated state budget-2020, submitted today by Georgian government to the Parliament of the country, envisages that credits, allocated to the country by international partners, will amount to 4.47 billion lari.

That volume includes 603 million lari from the IMF, 396.1 million lari – from the World Bank, 241 million lari – from the EU.




IN Q1, FDI DROPPED BY 41.7% Y-O-Y

Sakstat released estimation, according to which foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted in the 1^st quarter to $165.4 million. If compared with estimation for the same quarter of 2019, the FDI volume has reduced by 41.7%.




IN Q1, TURNOVER OF TBILISI ENTERPRISES INCREASED BY 13.7% Y-O-Y, OUTPUT – BY 5.6%

Sakstat reported that Tbilisi was in the lead among regions of Georgia in terms of enterprises’ turnover in the 1^st quarter, accounting for 77.5% of total (26 billion lari) – i.e. for 20.17 billion lari. If compared with the same period of 2019, the turnover of Tbilisi-located enterprises has increased by 13.7%.




IN 2019, INTERNET DENSITY IN TBILISI INCREASED BY 7 PERCENTAGE POINTS

The annual report, released recently by Georgian National Communication Commission, indicates that Internet density (ratio of number of subscribers to number of household) in Tbilisi at the end of 2019 made up 118%. If compared with the end of 2018 (111%), this indicator has increased by 7 percentage points.




IN Q4 OF 2019, ARPU IN RETAIL INTERNET ACCESS SERVICE INCREASED BY 8% Y-O-Y

The annual report, released recently by Georgian National Communication Commission, indicates that monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) in sphere of retail Internet access services amounted in the 4^th quarter of 2019 to 18.1 lari. If compared with the same period of 2018, the showing has increased by 8%.

IN Q1, TURNOVER OF “GEORGIAN RAILWAY” INCREASED BY 17.8% Y-O-Y

State-owned JSC Georgian Railway reported turnover of 122.76 million lari for the 1^st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has increased by 17.8%.




“AGARIS SHAKARI” PLANS PRODUCTION OF 60,000-65,000 T OF SUGAR

Nikoloz Natbiladze, representative of founder of Agaris Shakari (Agara Sugar), said that the enterprise will work during the whole year, until end of December. During this period, it is planned to produce about 60,000-65,000 t of sugar that makes up about a half of total market, he pointed.




IN Q1, PROFIT OF “GALT&TAGGART” DECREASED TWICE Y-O-Y

Galt&Taggart investment company reported profit of 255,158 lari for the 1^st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2019, the volume has dropped almost twice.
