    ANOTHER VESSEL UNDER RUSSIAN FLAG CALLED BATUMI PORT

    The vessel Opolye, floating under the Russian flag, called Batumi Port on August 7, Georgian Revenue Service reported.

    As a result of monitoring, it was established that this vessel is not subjected to sanctions (imposed on Russia because of the war in Ukraine), so permission to enter the Georgian seaport was issued, the Service said.

    IN Q2, NOMINAL EXCHANGE RATE OF LARI AGAINST US DOLLAR STRENGTHENED BY 3.6% Q-O-Q, AGAINST EURO – BY 8.3%

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that in the 2nd quarter, nominal exchange rate of Georgian national currency against the US dollar has strengthened quarter-on-quarter by 3.6%. The rate against euro has strengthened by 8.3%.


    NBG: IN Q3, REPRESENTATIVES OF GEORGIAN BANKING SECTOR EXPECT A SLIGHT INCREASE IN SPENDING ON FINANCIAL RESOURCES

    Referring to the study of credit conditions, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) indicated in its recent monetary policy report that in the 3rd quarter, representatives of Georgian banking sector expect a slight increase in spending on financial resources.

    NBG reported that in June, compared with March, average yield rate on deposits, placed in the national currency, has increased slightly and made up 10.9%.

    Referring to the study of credit conditions, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) indicated in its recent monetary policy report that in the 3rd quarter, representatives of Georgian banking sector expect a slight tightening of interest conditions on loans.

    NBG pointed that in June, compared with March, interest conditions slightly tightened on loans, issued to individuals in foreign currency.

    IN Q2, ADVERTISING REVENUES OF GEORGIAN TV BROADCASTERS DECREASED BY 17.9% Y-O-Y

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in the 2nd quarter, Georgian TV broadcasters’ revenues from commercial advertising totaled to 17.5 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has decreased by 17.9%.


    IN Q2, ADVERTISING REVENUES OF GEORGIAN RADIO BROADCASTERS DECREASED BY 12.7% Y-O-Y

    Georgian National Communication Commission reported that in the 2nd quarter, Georgian radio broadcasters’ revenues from commercial advertising totaled to 1.6 million lari. If compared with the same period of last year, the volume has decreased by 12.7%.


    ITALIAN “DEMACLENKO” SUITS GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT AND LLC “MTA”

    Italian company Demaclenko launches litigation against the government of Georgia and the state-owned LLC Mountain Trails Agency (MTA, structure of Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development).

    The company demands to charge the defendant a payment of 11.7 million lari as compensation for damages.


    FINANCE MINISTRY: IT SUPPORT FOR “VIBER” APPLICATION WILL BE PROVIDED FROM GEORGIA

    Georgian Finance Ministry reported that LLC Viber GA, registered in Georgia on April 8, has received the status of an international IT company.

    Viber GA is going to provide services to its parent Viber Media Sarl (Luxembourg) for operation and development of Viber application, the Ministry said.
