IN JUNE, LARI SUPPLY INCREASED BY 8.4% Y-O-Y

National Bank of Georgia reported that lari supply amounted by the end of June to 3.12 billion lari.

If compared with the same period of 2017, the volume has increased by 8.4% (by 243.35 million lari).




CODE OF CONDUCT ADOPTED FOR BANKS

By decree of president of National Bank of Georgia (NBG), code of conduct was adopted for commercial banks.

As the decree specifies, principles and standards of the Code are based on frameworks of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute.




“GEORGIAN LEASING COMPANY”: LOCAL LEASING SECTOR’S CAGR IN 2011-2017 MADE UP 11.6%

Georgian Leasing Company declared that compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of Georgian leasing sector in 2011-2017 made up 11.6%.

Based on data of leading local companies, Georgian Leasing Company said that corporate portfolio in 2017 amounted to $90.2 million, increasing year-on-year by 63%.




WITHIN USAID’S “ZRDA” PROJECT, 4 TOURISM INFORMATION CENTERS TO BE RENEWED

Chemonics Georgia, which implements USAID’s project “Zrda” in Georgia, announced acceptance of offers on renovation of 4 tourism information centers (interior design and furniture supply). Deadline for offers’ submission is July 18.

GEORGIAN LEATHER PURSES’ PRODUCER OPENED SHOP IN HONG KONG

Gepherrini, Georgian producer of leather purses, opened shop in Hong Kong trade mall Harbour City, reported Produce in Georgia Agency of Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The Agency said that it has assisted to representatives of the company in taking part in trade fair in Hong Kong in this March, where they made contacts with buyers.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: IN TERMS OF AIR POLLUTION CAUSED DEATH RATE, GEORGIA IS ON THE 70^TH PLACE

In its report for 2018, World Health Organization (WHO) places Georgia on the 70^th position in terms of death rate, caused by air pollution, Georgian Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture reported.

“Last year, Georgia appeared on the 4^th place in this term, which was caused by analysis of imperfect data and usage of obsolete statistics”, the Ministry pointed.




THE PARLIAMENT: GEORGIA-MADE CONSTRUCTION WILL BE USED IN CERN PROJECT

Based on agreement between European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and Georgian Technical University, Georgian scientists take part in ATLAS, one of the four major experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

As Georgian Parliament reported, one of construction for ATLAS is made in Georgia, on production base of LLC Elita Burji.
