THE EU HANDED OVER EQUIPMENT WORTH 130,000 EUR TO GEORGIAN INTERIOR MINISTRY
Within the joint program with the International Organization of Migration (IOM), the EU has handed over to Georgia equipment worth 130,000 EUR (400,000 lari), representation of the EU in Georgia reported. The matter concerns equipment for verification of identification documents and software for investigation of cyber-crimes.

According to Chikovani, “This is the key issue, which we consider with our partners in order to create even more opportunities for our citizens”.

IN Q4 OF 2019, REMITTANCES TO GEORGIA INCREASED BY 13% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that foreign remittances to Georgia amounted in the 4th quarter of 2019 to $476.52 million. The volume has increased by 5.7% quarter-on-quarter and by 13% year-on-year.
IN Q4 OF 2019, REMITTANCES FROM GEORGIA INCREASED BY 11.7% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that remittances from Georgia abroad amounted in the 4th quarter of 2019 to $69.86 million. The volume has increased by 18.9% quarter-on-quarter and by 11.7% year-on-year.
ECONOMY MINISTER: WE DEVELOP DECENTRALIZATION PROGRAM, BY MEANS OF WHICH WE WILL INVOLVE LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES IN PRIVATIZATION
Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava declared that the program of decentralization is been developed together with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, “by means of which we will involve local municipalities in privatization”. As Turnava noted, “8,000 small objects” are selected for that end.
TANGERINES HARVEST IS ESTIMATED TO EXCEEDED 50,000 T
Gathering tangerines in Georgian is finished and, according to estimation, the harvest exceeded 50,000 t, Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported. According to the Ministry, the country’s export of tangerines from last September through this January made up 31,000 t, increasing by 5% year-on-year.

GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: BRITISH “ONEWEB” BECAME INTERESTED IN ARRANGEMENT IN GEORGIA OF STATION FOR SATELLITE NETWORK SERVICE
British company OneWeb became interested in arrangement in Georgia of the station for its global satellite broadband network, which will cover the region, Georgian government reported. According to the government, that was declared at the meeting of Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia with executive director of OneWeb Adrian Steckel, which took place within the World Economic Forum in Davos.
GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: “COCA-COLA” CONTINUES INVESTMENT IN GEORGIA
Coca-Cola is interested in expansion of production in the region and continues investment in Georgia, Georgian government declared. As the government noted, that was declared at the meeting of Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia with Coca-Cola vice-president Michael Goltzman, which was held within the World Economic Forum in Davos.
